AI is for the incurious. It's for people who don't understand shit and have no drive to learn. Imagine having to dumb down your writing because AI was trained on the dumbest people on the planet. It's like aspiring to be middle management
“As some universities and journals adopt AI-text detectors, they risk creating a feedback loop that constrains how authors express themselves. I have seen colleagues intentionally simplify their grammar or break down complex rhetorical structures to avoid arousing algorithmic suspicion.”
Why artificial intelligence detectors could penalize academic writing - Nature Human Behaviour
Writing produced using artificial intelligence is becoming more common in academia, which has prompted institutions to look for ways to detect it. Bo Hu warns that an overreliance on fixed linguistic ...

It seems @dennycarter.bsky.social has been right all along
I've been running my sliding sport website for nearly 15 years. This is my fourth Winter Olympics I've covered in one way or another.

By far, I've seen more enthusiasm for the Olympics here on Bluesky than I remember on any other social media platform. It's legitimately not even close.

Really underlines how Amazon the eCommerce platform's business model has shifted toward cheap Temu-grade tat, 'Amazon Brand' garbage and, if it touches books at all, AI-generated eBooks and copy and pasted wikis.
The guy who owns Amazon shutting down the books section of the Washington Post is beyond parody
WaPo also closing Books section and downsizing International and Metro sections

We are observers, not protestors. We show up to document and film the atrocities ICE is committing. Using 5 year olds as bait. Kidnapping senior citizens. Breaking down doors without warrants. Murdering poets and nurses. Media has all of that information because *observers* were there to document it

I would be very surprised if a full accounting in the future didn't reveal more than one mass grave at the detention centers. If they're behaving this way in public, what's happening out of sight must be many times more brutal.
Imagine what’s happening in the camps.
Imagine how much they’d be lying about what happened without all the videos showing it from multiple angles.

it's just remarkable to remember that a whole ass constitutional crisis is being forced because a weird old wealthy dowager queen has no idea how the country he was elected to lead for 4 years works, and a bunch of wormtongues are trying to make cool tough guy videos for him and his fans
ICE attempted to order local police from the scene of the Minneapolis shooting, but the police chief refused and instructed his officers to preserve the crime scene.

Like, it's never "what is the carefully and fiendishly assembled plan for hegemony, ruthlessly executed," it's more likely "what is the psychotic war that a bunch of different power brokers can be convinced to sign on for for different and mutually exclusive reasons"
