At this point it's bordering on dishonest to keep bringing up protein systhesis or cancer detection when all those data centers and chips and greenhouse gases and trillions of dollars are *really* for lying, theiving chatbots, surveillance capitalism, and unethical porn.

Tell me more about your #AwesomeCharacters

Does your character have an education?

Is there formal education where they are? Or were they trained in specific skills in other ways?

What was their education like? Did they enjoy it?

Raise your hand if you like tiny pins!

Soooo much room in my collection for tiny pins.

So why can't they be robots? Well... they CAN. And they WILL BE. Coming in January, I better start teasing it a lil I guess haha

I love seeing people post their writing progress. How many words they did in a day. That they finished a chapter they loved. That they knocked out some grueling research. That they edited until their eyes were sore.

Post your process, fellow babies.

My short story, “The Arena Cleaner”, is available in full at The Daily Tomorrow.
Happy (Belated) New Story Sunday! It's a bit embarassing to be behind on these again, but we're still only two installments in, at least. It's really a great story, so do check it out!

Found out that employees of Harry Hartog are on strike until Boxing Day (or the day after? The strike period described in the article I read confused me a bit because no dates were given). Hope they get everything they want for Christmas this year.

What are your favorite scenes to write with your character?

Fighting/action? Bonding between characters? Revealing their backstory? Scheming? Exploring? Something else?

Does it change for different characters?

After binge-watching nearly all of QI this year (caught up to season W and I'm waiting for it to complete before continuing), it's time for some anime. Picked up Frieren just in time for the second season's arrival, hey!

The most brutal way of telling someone they’re a few sandwiches short of a picnic that I’ve heard in French is t’es pas la truite la plus oxygénée de la rivière. It means “you’re not the most oxygenated trout in the river.”

This has one of the best stories covering imperialism/colonialism that I've read in 2025.
Anyway! This seems like a good time to re-up my book that came out in February -- ONE MESSAGE REMAINS is a mini-collection with a brand-new novella and two new novelettes, plus one reprint, set in the same world!

Publishers Weekly is sponsoring an AI for Publishing Bootcamp on their PW Learning platform. This is so disgusting and unacceptable.

There's an email on the site. I've just sent them a message urging them to cancel this workshop series immediately. You can do the same.
