That is the most annoying thing. Covid was the most clear "numbers" story of our time. And he hated what the numbers said because it annoyed his sense of order and possibly inconvienced him, so he became Alex Berenson.

As a guy who has to run a media company, the web has wholly balkanized and the places people get their information are YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, then everywhere else. Text-based social networks have been split up into hegemonic forums. Threads has faux scale, X has ragebait, Bluesky has jokes.

Many if not most of the first trans men who got bottom surgery in the UK after WW2 got it by pretending (typically with at least the tacit approval of the surgeons) to be cis men with injuries or developmental abnormalities.
The irony is that virtually all trans healthcare treatments are minority by-uses of procedures developed for cis people. HRT for menopause, breast augmentation for cis women's cosmetic surgery, phalloplasty for men with war injuries, puberty blockers for precocious puberty cis kids, etc
