This thread (and another thread it points to) does a really great job of talking about the white guilt issue I haven't found the right words for.

I'm not saying to dunk on this person AT ALL but because I want this point elevated.

I would add that when people repeat a line no matter what, they sound like they're repeating a line--the strength of not just the AOC framing but the Mamdani campaign was addressing multiple issues and demonstrating how they connect to each other
One of the highest-testing messages is AOC’s message that Trump is cutting your health care to fund ICE’s violence. It’s quite easy to tell a unified story that resonates.
People are waving around 50/50 polling on abolish ICE and in the same poll Trump’s is like 30 points under water on affordability. It’s not at all crazy for professional politicians to think there’s a bigger advantage in talking about the latter!

I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.

i feel that the failure to impose any consequences on Trump for January 6 is the root cause of everything bad that is happening now

I do find "you assholes haven't arrested Elon Musk either" is a salient point. It's not like he hasn't been outside our borders in the last year.
