“Pop one right out” :o
- Your teeth will get brittle in the cold. Don't use them to open water bottle tops. I've seen people pop one right out.
- shove extra gloves in your pocket. You might need them.
- And you know this already, but layers are your friend.

If the admin's strategic goal was to break public resistance to immigration enforcement activities, it was a tactical mistake to go to the Twin Cities.

This is going to take a while. There are a lot of clergy risking arrest.

Today is the day. Right now hundreds of Minnesota businesses and institutions are shut down. Thousands of people are refusing to work. There’s a massive picket at the airport. Minnesota’s resistance to ICE today is changing the tenor our fight against fascism.

Friends, we got this.

Remember:
- Your hand and boot warmers only last 4 hours, and less if they've been on your shelf awhile. Bring extra, for you and someone else.
- Neck gators get damp and will freeze. Bring a spare.
- Ski goggles will keep your eyelashes from getting iced up.

Who is not participating? Minnesota’s 17 Fortune 500 companies. “Those organizations have not spoken publicly about the federal immigration activity.”

Wait. DHS told lies? Well. I'm shocked.
The one big Republican talking point on Minneapolis has been that the state government doesn't cooperatem in handing detained criminal foreigners to ICE, so they "have to" go around grabbing people off the street. This piece says that's nonsense

A reminder that @bradtabke.bsky.social won his seat by 14 votes and it took Melissa Hortman 6 weeks of a DFL boycott to get him seated in the Minnesota House. He's been leading efforts in Shopee since ICE targeted his community. F'ing hero, putting it all on the line.
New action just dropped: local developer Opus wants to profit off mass detention and mass misery in Shakopee. See below, from @bradtabke.bsky.social (original skeet deleted due to need for follow-up from me)

I do not romanticize Minnesota, even though I loved living there very much. It has the same problems most places have, and much work to do. But I am incredibly proud of everybody there who is working so hard to come together and take care of each other. It’s quite a thing.
It's -20 in Minneapolis and organizers are in the streets before dawn getting ready for actions related to the general strike. They've had locals training out-of-town volunteers on how to prepare for and endure the cold. AND IT IS WORKING. THE STRIKE IS HAPPENING. THE CITY IS DOING THE DAMN THING...

ICE is sending these kids to the concentration camp in Dilley, Texas, where they're preparing to have so many children that they're opening a new school there. They're actively hiring teachers now. I reported on it last month. We have to get people out of there.

I let my dog out for a second and almost couldn’t open the storm door to get back in because the weather warped it, and I got a little frost burn just from holding the handle without a glove. So. Stay safe out there, Minnesotans.
