Lawrence Summers is a scumbag who should be shunned wherever he shows his face.
Here's the full Summers email, btw.

This point absolutely correct and I will add that Mamdani demonstrates that an insurgency, even one with real moral clarity and anger at the status quo, can still be cheerful and inviting.

It’s insane to treat the filibuster as the most sacrosanct.

Article 1 power of the purse, oversight, and war? Nah.

Emoluments clauses? Bribery prohibition? Meh.

Criminal law? 14A? Doesn’t count.

But maybe the Senate changes a rule it has multiple times before? Gasp! Not that. Anything but that.

To be sure, @hellgatenyc.com has had our differences with the Cuomo campaign.

But when Rich Azzopardi told us this story was Pulitzer material, we took it to heart.

As Hell Gate's finance chair, I have signed off on the $75 prize nomination fee.

Now we wait.

A Final Indignity: Cuomo's White Ford Bronco Got a Parking Ticket
Thanks to an eagle-eyed New Yorker, who saw the car illegally parked outside of the ex-gov's Sutton Place apartment on Wednesday, and reported it to 311.

it is unlimited.

For years, but especially for the past year, Democrats have been in thrall to the idea that they need to chase an imagined median voter, and adopt that voter’s positions. Mamdani’s victory shows another way: hold principles, and persuade people to share them.

The entire right-wing propaganda machine came after Zohran Mamdani.

The president and his allies came after him.

Democratic leaders, by and large, did not have his back until the last minute.

He still won, turning out historic numbers and inspiring young voters.

His politics can win anywhere.

WOW. 81% of women 18-29 voted for Mamdani, 80% for Sherril, and 78% for Spanberger.

Gen Z women aren't playing around.

The headline about Spanberger's blowout victory in VA--along with the Dems romping in the House of Delegates--is that transphobia really doesn't work as an electoral secret weapon. And this fact needs to set in, despite the dearest wishes of the most ossified members of the commentariat.

My tiny town school board in western WA had 4 of their 5 seat up for election. All 4 went to the more left leaning candidates. It's a non-partisan position, but M4L and anti-trans candidates were running as the opponents.

And the two eligible city council positions went to Dems too

Is this hope?
