i’ve been thinking about the mechanics of romance because it’s so rare for depictions of romance in popular media to make me feel fluttery. there’ve been maybe 10 stories ever (and i read a LOT) that have made me swoon romantically. maybe because romance is so personal?

i think it’s so interesting that romance is so hard to define. and it also might look different for everyone. to me it’s actions taken to keep the spark of a relationship alive beyond the initial fluttery feelings. it’s being seen, understood, and thought of, in little moments. what is it to you?
