Every American wants 'the golden age of political bipartisanship' and when you ask them when that was, it is basically the middle of the 20th century when were were a one party state effectively and the only leverage Republicans had was whether or not a bill was bipartisan, not whether it passed lol
now the structure of federal campaign regulations are far from the only reason why this has happened but its a significant one

Almost true. It was consensus *except* in biology, esp evolutionary biology, where evidence against it, both theory and methodology, was strong but outweighed by a funding push by racist foundations (particularly Pioneer Fund) waging a PR campaign to convince ppl who didn't know biology
1. Historically, eugenics was not a pseudoscience. It was *science* Almost every scientist, social scientist, academic, etc. believed in the validity of eugenics. You would have to search far & wide to find a scientist that didn't believe in some form of it. They taught it in college!
