It really sucks how the key to writing is really to just be stressed out for days before you actually sit down to write, obsessively thinking about the topic to the detriment of your health and personal life.

It is vitally important that we keep increasing the budget for these guys so that they can continue to perform at a high level.

PORTLAND "BURNING": The best I've found so far on X of a video trying to show Portland is 'burning'. Video of a number of tiny homeless related fires, taken months apart.

Of note, the poster has been convicted of embezzling from city homeless service grants.

One of the earlier and most-viewed examples was an animation of Al Shifa Hospital, published in October 2023.

The “underground command room” was recycled from a 2022 IDF animation of an UNRWA school in Tel Al-Hawa; the street above was built from prefab @kb-3d.bsky.social storefronts

(In that case, public officials didn't want to deal with the riots resulting from grassroots desegregation efforts anymore)

I dunno, the civil rights movement and MLK were INCREDIBLY UNPOPULAR when the Civil Rights Act was passed in 1964. You really don't need public opinion to be on your side, just the facts of accounting

Hey #COYSky, American here. How does purchasing matchday tickets...work? Do we need to buy a membership to get them?

Protest isn't about shaping narratives, much as nonprofit types like these would want everyone to believe. It is about making the continuation of injustices logistically costly/impossible for oppressors.

Presidential transition doesn't happen in a day. In all likelihood, the FBI was under the control of Biden's people by January 6th

If some group of laid off *good* journalists launched a news group that only covered immigration related news, I would subscribe for sure.

The US is a straight-up police state, more egregious than the vast majority of ‘totalitarian regimes’ we (in the Global North) grew up being warned about.
Picture the Feds took with supposed Latin Kings leader (whose wife says he’s being framed) is 100% inspired by the IDF

As far as tactical effectiveness is concerned however, based on an interview I read with one of the frog suit guys, they appear do be good at reducing the effectiveness of chemical weapons

“I spent three nights and three days in federal custody. During that time, I was never told what I was charged with, was not allowed to shower despite being covered in tear gas and pepper spray, had no phone call to my family, and no access to an attorney.” - George Retes, U.S. citizen and veteran.
I’m a US citizen and a veteran. ICE arrested me for no reason.
Jailed for three days without an explanation or ability to notify anyone, George Retes argues the only path to healing starts with the government taking accountability for its actions.

It means that you don't support the protests because of the absurdity of the protestors, so there is no reason to believe that that is what would make someone else do so, not that that really matters in the first place as far as tactical effectiveness is concerned
vulgareconomics.bsky.social
This is correct. You probably couldn't have picked a consistently worse team. That said, a lot of being a football fan is supporting your team despite them sucking, which because of draft rules and salary caps is bound to happen to a team at least every decade
