The pundit class's notion of "free speech" is predicated on a division of humanity into those who *participate* in debates and those who are the *topic* of debate, where treating one of the former as if they were one of the latter is seen as the direst of all threats to "free speech".
So a lot of folks I know with various executive function disorders, including me, actually get noticeably more effective when something is mentally coded as a certain kind of crisis (where when that happens is doesn't necessarily correlate w/ real-world urgency).

When I ran an ND ERG, non-autistic parents would tell stories about their autistic kids, like a story of a meltdown. They would tell the story like the meltdown came out of nowhere. But the autistic listeners could see the meltdown coming a mile away, hidden in details the parent skimmed over.

The majority of trans people are queer, bisexual, or pansexual. Less than 15% report being straight after transition. If people being trans was a way to make them "straight" it is horribly ineffective.
