This is true, and also the best response to this is organizing the largest voter registration drive this country has seen in years and making plans to accompany citizens of color to the polls this November

This is a trial balloon. Pop it, don't ignore it

Okay so it looks like what I thought is correct - what I think of as "American border control in Canada" was wrapped into the ICE label, but it's basically still the same folks/training who deal with on-site visas, cross-border issues, investigations, etc.

They were just rebranded to be worse. 🙄
This CBC article explains what ICE can and cannot do in Canada (yes, they're in Canada, no they're not armed).

Which is *weird* given I thought Border Control department did this role previously (article explains it), but maybe I'm mistaken?

In fact all the Marriage Stories in Canterbury Tales (1400) are about this exact theme.
1/ The "norms around consent shifted" argument really pisses me off. I was a teenager in the 2000s and you were absolutely a creep if you were a middle-aged man hitting on teenage girls back then and everyone thought so.

I've read some data about the voting habits of wrestling fans, and the big thing is that they're disengaged. So if ICE's many atrocities are breaking through to an extent that even they're chanting "Fuck ICE"...
Amazing. If a professional wrestling crowd is chanting "fuck ICE," it suggests to me that large swaths of the culture are not just upset over ICE tactics, they're coalescing against mass deportations as a broader ideological project.

Context: this speech is from SIR THOMAS MORE, a history written, as near as scholars can tell, in the early 1600s by 6 or 7 people including Dekker, Heywood, Chettle, Shakespeare, and Munday.

It was never performed, because Jacobean England was a police state and it was banned by the censor.

a country that wishes to continue as a going concern should always assume that anyone so wealthy that the state is the only entity large enough to even attempt to constrain him will naturally begin seeking to destroy the country
Definitely seems like they destroyed the country on purpose.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that there are tactical actions to protect vulnerable people and mitigate CBP abuses, and there are strategic actions to document and broadcast CBP abuses to the rest of the country. I don't see where dumpster fires fit into this picture
In order to win, Dems will need centrist votes. You know what centrist voters love? Calm streets, and 2% inflation. You know what centrists see right now? Expensive groceries and CBP lawlessness, especially in Minneapolis.

Why would you start lighting dumpsters on fire now. They are losing voters!!

A friend of mine who lives near a beach where these hang out would remind you that wading in rocky areas with octopus hiding places counts as provocation. Just like with bees, they won't chase you but watch where you put your feet when you are in their habitat.
Although all octopuses are venomous, Blue-ringed octopuses (genus Hapalochlaena) are the only cephalopods that have a bite venomous enough to kill a human.

You shouldn't be afraid of them though. They are timid and won't bite unless provoked. So just give them the space and respect they deserve.
