What was I saying two years ago? I said: there is no plan here, they think they’ll win then everyone will be so happy at being governed by them that the economy will boom. Because that’s what happened last time, isn’t it. That’s what all the chat about the imminent sunny optimism and Good Vibes was.

A quick reminder that the hypocrite-in-chief tried to add German citizenship to his own by lying about the place & length of his residence in Germany, & then had to withdraw his application when found out.

Might it have been an idea for UK Labour to wait a few days for Danish local election results before adopting an even more extreme version of their migration policy? If Copenhagen is anything to go by, London could see a major surge by Greens. People chose to live in diverse cities for a reason

Not sure how Labour can fully square the circle between admitting that Reform's proposals to deport children are racist, but their plans for deport children, even if born and raised in the UK, are "fair and compassionate".

Sometimes, a front page can sum up quite a lot that’s wrong with the world. Including the paper itself which has been so complicit in getting us to a place where children born to refugees could be deported, Trump celebrates despotic wealth and Boris Johnson’s sister moans about not being rich. Ugh.

Remembering that hideous Daily Mail story about Jews hiding their gold and jewellery when arriving as refugees. Of course they did if they had any. Would Daily Mail journalists and editors do any differently if they were in a similar plight? Such a failure of emphethetic imagination and compassion.
Govt minister Alex Norris is asked if the govt will take jewellery from people [fleeing war and persecution]. Norris says the govt won't be taking peoples wedding rings but they will seize assets.

This is what happens when the Centre Left follow far right policies on immigration. Is Labour watching? Those Danish immigration policies still looking attractive?
Danish Social democrats suffered a massive defeat in Copenhagen last night. They incurred similar defeats across the country and there will be a general election in the next year. In Copenhagen the far-left Enhedslisten (the unity list) won the most mandates followed by the socialist people's party.

Over two decades ago, a Labour government repealed “Section 28” which aimed to prevent positive discussions about homosexuality and gay lives in schools. Now a Labour government pursues transphobia and erases trans and non-binary lives. Today’s political transphobia is basically recycled homophobia.
Twenty-two years ago today Section 28 was repealed.

But we're seeing history repeat itself as some in the media and in politics spread bigotry and misinformation about trans people.
