If drivers had it there way there be no pavements too. They think they own the roads & all the space around them.

Frustrating to have to listen to this, but the pressure has to be kept on.

We need a national ban and then let council's proposed places where they wish to provide footway parking through the democratic process, including assessing the equality impacts.
NEW POD EPISODE! 🚨An unhappy fifth birthday. Five years and four prime ministers since the pavement parking consultation ended, and still no action.

What will it take to reclaim pavements?

Addictions are serious illnesses, not something to mock, deride, or belittle.

People with addictions deserve support, not shaming.

And actually, I find it awful that addictions to substances are not legally identifiable as disabilities according to the Equality Act.

Close pass any of us and get yourself 3 points + a fine.

It's basically an idiot tax: you only get to pay it if you drive like an idiot.

Not that I need any excuse to hop on my e-bike for everyday errands and local travel - but it's great to see hard evidence about the long term health benefits that anyone can get, simply by switching from 4 wheels to 2 (or 3!)

An interesting, evidence-based study, worth a read...

Can’t remember budget ‘case studies’ ever being quite so funny. Especially in newspapers that recently anointed Liz Truss a fiscal genius.
Wow - this guy must be really, REALLY bad with money if an extra £208 per month will “ruin” his retirement.

Let’s take a look at his situation based on what he told the @Telegraph

Because this does NOT add up!

No, this is not a “poor pensioner” scrabbling around for pennies…

Disabled people need healthcare, housing, food and social supports.

This should not be controversial.

They shouldn’t have to have “thought ahead” and purchased disability insurance.

They shouldn’t have to beg, grovel and “prove their worth”.

They shouldn’t left to die.

We are not expendable

This is huge

Long Covid has a lot of stigma attached to it and it can be hard to get disability.

You’re told to “try harder”.

It’s “not that bad”.

You can “still work”.

Not everyone can

Never ceases to amaze, that California, a state otherwise famous for safetyism allows by policy the streets to be an absolute bloodbath.
It's easy to kill and keep killing with a car in California.

"Drunk and drugged driving is now so common in car-centric California that drivers routinely rack up four, five, six DUIs. One woman in Fresno just got her 16th."
15 DUIs, still driving: California's failure to take repeat drunk drivers off the road
