Aideen’s story has sparked an overwhelming response, showing the real impact that pavement parking has on people’s daily lives across the UK.

This is why we are campaigning to end pavement parking.

I miss the Wellington carnival so much!
The Somerset carnival circuit is one of the most underrated pieces of iconic British culture. Only when I moved away did I realise the rest of the country doesn't get to enjoy eccentric, OTT, lit up to the heavens, carnival floats crawling round town on a cold November night.

There seems to be a trend for some male cyclists to pull in front of a female cyclist in an ASL with the assumption that we will be slower than them. Stop it.

Right then. It's mid-November and if you're thinking about #Christmas shopping, now's the time. All my products are designed here in Manchester and made in the UK.

I cycle in a way to maximise my safety, not the convenience of motorists.

If motorists try to intimidate me into changing this I will assume they are an arsehole and THEN I will cycle in a way that may inconvenience them.

Anyone committing any driving offence should have their licence removed immediately and be forced to take a theory test before its given back. They're obviously not familiar with the law or the rules of the Highway Code so need to be reminded.

From @ericidle.bsky.social & Neil Innes' brilliant & criminally overlooked/unavailable RUTLAND WEEKEND TELEVISION, here's a truncated glimpse of George Harrison's Christmas 1975 guest appearance runner, where he didn't want to perform a song - He really just wanted to play a pirate...

Language matters. Asylum seekers live in appalling conditions but the buildings are described as "hotels". Members of the Royal family live a life of luxury and privilege but their homes are often called "cottage" or "lodge". Why not just describe things accurately?

The results are in and I have a 1st class degree in Biomedical Science.

I celebrated by staying 3 hours late at work, and then having chips with my boys.

This is why my back and legs were hurting at work this weekend, giving an “Oof” every time I bent over to open an incubator. But it was worth it!
A section of cycle path on the Purple Pedalway had become badly overgrown. We asked Norfolk County Council to clear it but they only did half a job, so we spent two hours yesterday clearing back the vegetation properly.

It was hard work but satisfying. We shouldn’t need to do this.

Looking out the window at work and seeing the steady stream of cars containing one person who will run around the park for 30-45 mins, then drive home again.

I’m afraid I just don’t get it.

My colleague arrived 10 minutes late for her midday shift, apparently because of traffic and then had to drive around for a parking space. She lives on my route to work - about 2 miles closer. She’s also on a direct bus route. She gets no sympathy from me!
During covid with minimal traffic I could cycle to work in 22 minutes. Today it took me 30 as I was continually stuck behind single occupancy cars.

It’s not cyclists who hold motorists up - it’s motorists.

Yes!
Yep. Pet hate is drivers anxiously rushing to get past you only to immediately brake as they join a queue of traffic, usually slowing or blocking your path in the process.
