I'm also an AvGeek, enjoy tabletop games, and have spent way, way too many years in the legal field.

Hello BlueSky! (And thank you for doing this!)

I'm a writer, photographer, and nerd, but not necessarily in that order. I have the best of my photos now up for sale via SmugMug, and I've even broken them out into categories, like Aviation, Nature, Beach and Ocean, and such.

I hope you enjoy :-)

Look, if you have a question about one of my books before buying it, YOU CAN ASK ME. I just sit here--and on Insta and Threads. I check my replies. I'm happy to help! Don't ask the stupid AI that steals my life's work and vomits out garbage. I will tell you whatever you want to know!!

Unfortunate he felt he had to make that choice. A lot of my work is independent, but I've worked for numerous publishers and have never been made to feel I couldn't have an open political persona (to the limited extent I do).
Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

Seeing Jurassic Park in a packed theater with a couple of friends.
When the T-Rex eats the lawyer in the outhouse, my very loud friend blurted out, "Plucked off the shitter!" to which pretty much the entire room laughed :-)
Raising the always fun question: What are your most memorable theater-going experiences?

Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.
It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.

1. For at least 10 years, Pepsi has conspired with Walmart to force up grocery prices. That’s the shocking evidence made public today in an unsealed FTC lawsuit. The suit was abandoned in May by the Trump FTC just before it was to be un-redacted. We went to court to get it unsealed & won.

"Due Process is good, actually" is a popular message.
to defend abrego garcia, you didn't have to defend the guy, you didn't have to defend unauthorized migration, you didn't have to defend biden's handling of the southern border. you only had to stand up for the constitution! that's it!

Effects from old smelters are visible throughout the country. In my still-unpublished data set (which I hope to get written up sometime in the next year), you can see artifacts from the old Asarco copper smelter in Tacoma, WA...which closed in 1985.
NEW: For more than a century, a smelter spewed lead dust over Omaha.

For decades, the government cleaned it up.

But a shift in guidance from the Trump administration may stop thousands more from potential cleanup, exposing families to the harmful metal.

With @flatwaterfreep.bsky.social
The EPA Was Considering a Massive Lead Cleanup in Omaha. Then Trump Shifted Guidance.
The Trump administration says it will speed cleanups, but residents of the largest residential lead Superfund site worry fewer properties will be remediated.

Of 111 measles cases, 105 were in unvaccinated people. 6 were in partially vaccinated people.

Get vaccinated! Especially your kids!
Hundreds quarantined as South Carolina measles outbreak accelerates
A state epidemiologist said the spike in cases came in the wake of Thanksgiving travel and a lack of vaccinations. At least 16 cases were traced to a church.

I never think to join #artadventcalendar because photography is more of a personal hobby than a form of expression, but now I want to join in the fun.

An incredible admission at how top down the right is and how the oligarchs propagandists view their followers as lemmings to manipulate through social media rage bait. Now they're upset that they have lost control of the manipulation machine.

Always good to hear the educated say "We've thought long and hard and there is no right answer."
Powell: "In the near term, risks to inflation are tilted to the upside, and risks to unemployment to the downside -- a challenging situation. There is no risk free path for policy as we navigate this tension between our employment and inflation goals."
