Hi! I'm Delilah S. Dawson & Lila Bowen. I'm a NYT-bestselling author of over 30 books and dozens of comics for adults, YA, and middle grade. I love Star Wars, weird taxidermy, Olympic lifting, and gluten free baking. I will answer any non-googleable question about writing, publishing, or my work.
This remains one of the most powerful and eloquent statements on the creative life that I've ever beheld, so maybe you need this reminder, too: www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_nc...

Something just occurred to me. I was like, "Why are k-pop videos so mesmerizing?", and then I remembered that I imprinted on this like a baby zebra:

So Dust Bunny is an enormous treat. Stylish, fun, brutal, clever. Highly recommended.

As a baking show connoisseur, I must admit:
out: "What would winning mean for you?"/sob story
in: Duff Goldman enjoying a fried crepe lasagna sandwich so much that he gets up from the table, revealing his camo cargo shorts and neon orange sneakers, and goes over to hug the baker.

Look, if you have a question about one of my books before buying it, YOU CAN ASK ME. I just sit here--and on Insta and Threads. I check my replies. I'm happy to help! Don't ask the stupid AI that steals my life's work and vomits out garbage. I will tell you whatever you want to know!!

Update: I think 4 people across 2 platforms so far have recommended the Kohl's hoodie, which is on sale for $23.99, so I bought 2 Men's and 1 Women's and will update with results once they arrive. Thank you all for your input! And if you're looking for a cozy hoodie, def peep the replies.
Can anyone recommend the softest zip-up hoodie in the entire world that won't turn into sandpaper when washed and doesn't cost hundreds of dollars? And, to be clear, I'm hoping for a direct link to purchase something you personally love, not a 'try googling this phrase'.

I could finish the next Arcadia Falls book, which is due in January, or-- AND HEAR ME OUT-- I could buy all the supplies to make candles that smell like boiled peanuts and books and bring them on the Books & Bewitchment book tour in February.

I get why Search functions are broken across the wider internet, but I'm kind of stunned that it's also suffering in specific places where it should be sharp as glass:
me: oversized tufted chaise longue
Wayfair: bean bag chair? elegant, egg-shaped couch? leather recliner?

A thread for the morning crowd on navigating this particular December in publishing...
C'mere, pookie. We need to talk about how now is a difficult time for lots of people in publishing. Not just bc--*waves arms*--but bc we're seeing Best of the Year lists and Award Eligibility posts, and bc the last book deals of the year are being announced while sub times are longer than ever. 1/

We have a cheap little artificial Christmas tree decorated only with handmade cryptid ornaments and ghosts. The topper is a plush Nessie.

A finished thread on how to deal with the fact that publishing sucks right now and December feels like a dead zone.

So after we got over that whole McCarthyism crap in the 50s, we got the freedom of the 60s and the weirdness of the 70s and I just really hope I'm around to see straight men in makeup and crop tops and heels in 2040, dancing to Space Disco with long hair and mustaches once we're through ALL THIS.
