I'm also an AvGeek, enjoy tabletop games, and have spent way, way too many years in the legal field.

Hello BlueSky! (And thank you for doing this!)

I'm a writer, photographer, and nerd, but not necessarily in that order. I have the best of my photos now up for sale via SmugMug, and I've even broken them out into categories, like Aviation, Nature, Beach and Ocean, and such.

I hope you enjoy :-)

The craziest thing about the Metaverse was, the concept of virtual/VR social spaces IS Not New and also Definitely Works.

VRChat has at LEAST hundreds of thousands of users.

Second Life peaked at a million!

The template was right there to crib from, all he had to do was Apple that Pebble Watch!
Mark Zuckerberg believed in the Metaverse so much he changed his company's name to "Meta" in 2021 and spent over $70 billion on this fantastical virtual reality chat space that has less functionality than VR Chat.

Now, in 2025, he doesn't even mention it. And investors still give him money to burn
Mark Zuckerberg is never right:

Thank you everyone for your concern about the earthquake. I’m safe, and fortunately the damage in my area was not too serious, but the strong quake and aftershocks were frightening. The tsunami warning has now been lifted, and our morning has returned to normal.

This is a perfect example as to why we need AI regulation yesterday.

AI cannot be the arbiter of whether human beings can live or die. This is an excuse for insurance companies to fire human workers and make our healthcare system even more nightmarish for a quick buck.

The thing about the generational discourse is that if you do the research you can prove that the best generation lived from 399-429 CE.

Just a bunch of winners all around. Didn't judge each other, made great hummus, built a generation starship and left Earth. Great folks.

- deeply stupid - "russia isn't bad, i saw on twitter that they fight nazis"

insane local news just dropped. i've lived in a part of KC for ~decade and it's been an inside joke with friends and service workers that the local biz/party district is ran by a cartel of biz owners who bully out new ventures and replace them with generic dive bars for white suburbanites.

Well UH
