How's everyone doing on their reading goals? This is the first year I'm not making a mad dash to the finish line.

Motherhood encapsulates a kaleidoscope of disciplines. The child is the teacher, test, and study materials.

Since I'm the only girl in my family, people assume I'm "daddy's girl" when in reality I'm just my father's ✨prettiest son✨

I'm three #books shy from reaching my reading goal this year! Unfortunately, nothing on my TBR list is under 400 pages 🥲

My husband added a bunch of cookbooks to his wishlist. I threw them all in the cart then asked if he wanted hard or soft copies. He goes, "Copies? I only want a couple."

I blinked at him. He blinked back. Then he said, "You were about to buy them all, weren't you?"

I LIKE #BOOKS, OKAY?? Sue me 😤

I hate that traditional publishing has made it necessary for writers to hustle on social media. I just want silly, goofy times with some book besties 🥲

I wanted to love The Lilac People more than I did. The main character's constant anguish made it hard to connect, especially besides Karl's tragic but quieter grief. The LGBTQ+ history along side well-timed suspense gave the story depth beyond its flaws.

We don't need AI. We need a network of reliable autistic people to ask our niche questions to.

AI is robbing artistic fields & is unethically sourcing content to feed the machine. But can AI be used as a tool outside of creative fields? My gut says to hold the line until they have more ethical practices. But what would have to change to make AI use acceptable?

Writing is so strange. You sit alone inventing people and somehow discover more about yourself in the process. It's a playground for introspection.

CAUTION: there's a chance that tiny throwaway plot twist you added for fun becomes the entire emotional core of your book, and now you're rewriting 40k words to make it make sense.
CAUTION: There's a chance that small side character you just created becomes way more important to the story than you had originally planned because you keep daydreaming cool things about them, and you end up liking them too much

I'm doing the ADHD reader thing where I try to read 4 books at once. Is it a sign of dysregulation or is my TBR pile staging a coup?

Reading feels sacred in autumn. The air cools, the earth softens, and the smallest story becomes a comfort. Books and blankets were made for this season 🍂

Me later: 😭😠😐🤔🤓✍️
Oh, all this pain? Just put it in the book!

Me earlier: The person I think is so stinking neat has never bothered to message me first in 20+ years. I'm so sad for me right now.

Me hours later:
