Top right corner. Can't help but wonder if The Simpsons paid subtle tribute to Dan McQuade in tonight's set-in-Philadelphia 800th episode.

Even if you fully intend to vote for whoever the Democratic nominee ends up being, there’s a huge difference between doing that quietly in November 2028 and loudly announcing it years in advance with zero conditions attached.
What's the purpose of saying that there's no position so extreme that someone could lose your vote? Especially this far out? You're effectively giving possible candidates the all clear to move as far right as they'd like. This seems foolish.

I've been thinking a lot lately about how communities in the Antebellum North organized to protect Black Americans from kidnapping enslavers, and also how witnessing (and resisting) such kidnappings slowly radicalized a critical mass of white Northerners against slavery www.salon.com/2017/08/05/w...

"will you vote for newsom in the general" is designed to undermine the left opposition to him *in the primary.* it's meant to show that the left can be ignored because they'll come around or that they can be ignored because they're a lost cause. the mission *now* is to make newsom lose the primary.
democratic primary voters keep fucking up and we're trying to get ahead of it this time by letting them know that newsom isn't electable

You meant Christian Gonzalez
You meant Christian Hernandez who single-handedly kept the Patriots in this game with his defense. Otherwise it would be 54-7.
I don't think they'll give it to him, but you could make a STRONG case that Devon Witherspoon is the MVP of this game

I'm hardly the first person to note this, but it's enormously instructive that our President and his followers saw the message "THE ONLY THING MORE POWERFUL THAN HATE IS LOVE" and understood it, correctly, as an attack on them
What a moment.

When authorities are already acting lawlessly it is spitting in Americans' faces to tell us that they'll obey a NEW law.

This is Democrats pretending to do something with full knowledge it won't do anything at a time of unprecedented political leverage to fix a very broken thing.
You act like they’re not going to walk back on this too the second their position becomes a personal inconvenience.

I will believe that ICE enforcement has changed on the ground when I stop getting daily notices that armed, masked goons are circling my kids’ schools and trying to sow fear in the parent patrols.

Donald Trump Is Frightened
Trump wants to appear eager to minimize out-of-control clashes between government militias and protesters. But he doesn’t want to stop the things causing those clashes in the first place.

tldr: i want stephen miller fired but "in exchange for funding ICE" is a pretty fucked up trade-off! i'd rather Stephen Miller keep whispering poison but send the thugs shooting people back to their hometowns where they can stick to disappointing their parents and getting kicked out of bars.

@shutdownfullcast.bsky.social Can confirm, getting hit in the open ice and going down is SO MUCH worse than getting hit against the boards in hockey.

One extra shitty rink at a rival high school had chain link fence instead of glass and the boards in one corner were a cinderblock wall. Still held.
