Not sure I can adequately communicate the combination of frustration and sheer exhaustion of being a trans woman worried about losing access to healthcare and other rights, seeing anti-trans shit in the news daily, and then being told "Well, maybe trans people should have been nicer to JK Rowling."

The big “why do you hate AI?” Thread got comments and quotes turned off, but here’s the main reason I hate AI:

It’s being developed by the worst people on the planet solely to enrich themselves at the expense and labor of the world’s vulnerable populations. Everything else stems from that

Nov 2025 @rikiwilchins.bsky.social -- Reps privately push ban on trans care in ACA/Obamacare as part of moving any subsidy deal forward. It was stripped from the last ACA deal. This one would hurt perhaps 500k trans ppl among the 20m who need Obamacare subsidies. Even blue states would be impacted.
Republicans Privately Pushing Anti-Trans Funding Ban For ACA Subsidy Deal After Shutdown Compromise
The proposal, which was first detailed in the Wall Street Journal, could harm transgender people even in blue states if it becomes part of the negotiated deal.

This would be a massive, historic crime even if no one died — a rich guy is not permitted to arbitrarily close a government agency in a law-based society — but the massive body count turns it into an atrocity, the kind of thing we put people on trial for at The Hague.
The numbers vary from study to study but hundreds of thousands of people have died because of Elon Musk and Marco Rubio illegally disbanding USAID — a body count on par with the first eight years of the Syrian civil war — In just seven months. It’s mass death that is simply unfathomable in scale.

A very, very important peer-reviewed empirical study published in the academic journal Pediatrics shows that hormone treatment of young trans people decreases suicidality very significantly.

Doubtless it will be ignored by Simonoff et al, who are not even measuring this in the “Pathways” study.

Trans people are being challenged, misgendered and harassed whether they use a facility that aligns with their sex assigned at birth, or not. Many gender non conforming women also report more challenges in gendered spaces.

This guidance in the U.K. will affect anyone who looks vaguely gender non-conforming.

And it will single out trans people in any situation. From the article: "if a trans man, who is biologically female but is 'perceived' as a man, attempted to use a women’s changing room ... they can be barred."

It‘s quite a testimony to the age of regression we live in.

Especially struck by a student who socially transitioned, including going by his name 5 years ago. As a result, “his grades climbed,” and “He raised his hand so often that one teacher joked about it.”

“‘It’s rough being called something I’m not,’ said Brignac, who now avoids talking in class.”

We found: the wealthiest 100 Americans gave $1.1 billion to influence the 2024 elections — 140x more than they did in 2000. And almost all of that giving boosted Republicans.

As first reported by @msjpauly.bsky.social and @pablo.show, the Harris County GOP gave Riley Gaines $25,000 to speak at the 2025 Lincoln Reagan Dinner with Gov. Greg Abbott. Here's a little more context on that, plus Gaines' relationship with the Texas GOP: www.chron.com/culture/arti...
Harris County GOP paid anti-trans activist Riley Gaines $25K to speak
Business is booming for Riley Gaines.

Gaines is prototypical anti-trans grifter:

-Consistent dishonesty
-Radicalizing quickly once financially incentivized by far right groups
-Shilling crap to stupid audience
-Using sports for wider attacks on trans rights
-Lack of concern for real issues faced by women athletes (eg abusive coaches)
An incident in a locker room has always been key to Riley Gaines’ anti-trans fame.

But @msjpauly.bsky.social spoke to swimmers who were present at the same 2022 meet. They shared a very different narrative.
How right-wing superstar Riley Gaines built an anti-trans empire
The swimmer tied a trans woman for fifth. The MAGA industrial complex took care of the rest.

She then claims cis people who get “wrongly” challenged “will knkw how to deal with that” and i think the obvious immediate question back to this should be “well how would you prove you are not a trans woman?”
