And actually, it's because of white supremacy, white people underestimate the incredible sophistication of AAVE. So they think they can play with stolen snatches of it, but they have no idea what they'e doing in it, because they don't give it its due seriousness as a dialect.
The word doesn't even mean the same thing when it leaks out of Black dialect into the white mainstream. Languages are spoken by communities with shared cultural context. The word was richly embedded in its context. Extracted by people who aren't fluent in it & could care less it's a different thing.
