Haiku - not offended.

Deep in false shadows
my feeling the light shut off
ended with your smile

My poem recap of #QPRMIL uses the early modern ballad structure’s rhyme pattern: A, B, C, B. I tried to stick to the iambic structure, but ran out of steam.

Sadly, I had hoped this one to be jaunty.

On to Wednesday. #QPR

Today! Today! I’ll also be reading a new poem and helping run the thing as usual. It will be a great day of great poets and our great feature, GAY JESUS! #toronto #poetry.
A very queer-friendly (and welcoming to everyone) event.

Whispers in the Web

In corners dim and rooftops high,
Where shadows blend with silent sky,
A weaver works with silken thread,
A patient artist overhead.

I’m doing a final export of all my Medium data then deleting myself. So don’t look for me there. I tried to go in and unlist things but I’d have to do each individual story/poem and that’s almost 500 pieces of work!!! I cant do that.
I’m still on Reddit but I’ll have to deal with that later

Go out & help your community. No Kings (or fascists) allowed!

Also in the original post, I wanted to further say: None of us are safe until ALL of us are safe.

Vices

In alley’s hush and neon’s glow,
Where whispered temptings softly grow,
There lie the seeds of sweet decay—
A velvet path that leads astray.

A beautiful poem for today:
Japanese poem Haiku by Izumi Shikibu (978~unknown) “What color is / this blowing autumn wind, / that it can stain my body / with its touch.”.

It’s #NoKings morning. My old body will join with younger ones to stand to say we see, and we oppose, capricious oppression and misrule. Here’s a poem, now song, for this: frankhudson.org/2025/10/16/b...
Beautiful Justice
This poem by the French Surrealist poet Paul Éluard wandered into my view earlier this month, and it seems like it, and my work translating it into English, slots right in between my late wife’s po…

Short Poem of the Day 📝

December (Eschaton)

At the last day
the students leave the gates and exit into Summer.
They ramble out in packs, together,
but wander from each other;
Drift off on roads alone
looking for home.

Riding a donkey
a picture of parody
through crowded streets
laughing faces
scornful
remorseless
each a thorn to the heart
Yearning to wear
a badge of pride
to hold my head up high
walking through a valley of
noble kings

The egret arrives
And sits upon the top of the heron tree
Vibrant white atop the green
Surveying the watery domain
On its journey from place to place
A fine hotel for avian migrants
