Everyone is getting upset about the data centers. They pollute a lot and use a lot of energy and will eventually be very ugly/huge vacant buildings. And I understand being mad about that. Until you consider the state of the lazer tag industry at this moment, and how much help that sector needs.

Sorry babe, I can't read the @startribune.com because there is an ad for Cub Foods that has no way to get out of. There is no 'x'. Yes, I tried clicking all over in the darkened area overlay.

The grandfather learns that his son and daughter in law do not have cable television, so he cannot watch the Gopher football game. Big letdown and consternation. Now learning they don’t have the fireplace television channel either. “Netflix has it.”

Universities are assembling larger and larger teams to deal with academic integrity issues--mostly focused on AI--while simultaneously holding AI "writing" contests, AI-themed events, "hey, come play with these fun tools!" The messages are so mixed, it's criminal. Because AI is bloated with money.

I don't want every little home kitchen tool and appliance to be 'smart'. I don't want my mother to buy a $91 thermometer because "it's a good one" and then be disappointed when the Bluetooth doesn't connect and the battery will not charge. I want the $25 version with the wire lead that just works.
