My best trip to ALDI yet. I was gifted a free cart by a friendly shopper. Now I have a second ALDI quarter! Stocked up on the essentials like chicken thighs ($1.55 per pound), salad kits, and plenty of dark chocolate. Total receipt was $123.46. Whole milk had gone up from $2.16 to $2.95 per gallon!

Five landscapers with gasoline leaf blowers is just a little excessive, I think.

Tonight, I made dinner with my friend. I harvested from the garden, washed and chopped fresh kale, green onions, and cilantro. Then we were cooking away for two hours. At three hours in, she asked me to take a picture of the bounty. Then I think she saw the photo on her phone, and then... Instagram!

I custom coded a new web font for just these icons that is burned into the CSS of my website. This bespoke approach allows me to pull up the icons without having to go to a third-party server. I am very happy with the results! It only makes a marginal difference, but it was a nice little project.

I made some improvements to my website recently by switching up the paragraph typeface to be a web safe (preloaded) font instead of a Google Font, and now my site is loading very fast. Still isses with bloated CSS.

Bad news, my wallet got stolen because I was seated at the bar and somebody wanted to get all touchy feely and had a crime of opportunity. Good news is U.S. Bank has a new debit card design that is pretty.

First email that I received for a government job where they are transparent that they actually decided to not hire anybody. I expect to see more of this, or cover story of "go in a different direction" etc, as federal cuts continue.

Every death on Minneapolis streets is a tragedy for our city and the family and friends of the victim. And every traffic death is preventable with concrete changes to driving behavior and infrastructure. Minneapolis Vision Zero is helping bend the curve and prevent traffic deaths in our city.

Initial data from the City of Minneapolis’ traffic safety camera pilot program shows speeding is down at camera locations across the city in the program’s first month. In the first month, the rate of drivers recorded traveling 20 or more mph over the speed limit was reduced by 76%.

Mayor Jacob Frey and the Minneapolis City Council are considering changes to the electric & gas franchise fee structure and Climate Equity Plan. This amendment, authored by @katiecashman.bsky.social, would increase investment in energy affordability. actionnetwork.org/letters/supp... 🌻🌻🌻

Contacts prices for my prescription:

✓ Costco $33.87
✓ Walmart $49.86
✓ America's Best $60.30
✓ Contact Lens King $25.42 (with fees)
✓ OptiContacts $41.30

I guess I should not be surprised after looking at milk prices for Kemps milk, but it's still amazing the spread of prices nonetheless.
