Star Trek The Next Generation scene. We're in a home on a planet that's earth like, we see a couch and some windows looking out on greenery and sunlight and trees. And then there's Picard. He's much older now and a bit more festively plump and he's wearing non Starfleet clothing, all tan. Deep Space 9 scene. The Sisko, Bashir, and Odo (🎵 buckets of fun🎵) are in the kitchen and shoulder to shoulder hovering over a bunch of food. The observations of the Police Civilian Internal Affairs Review Commission chairperson are amazingly damning
Sarah Florman, Police Civilian Internal Affairs Review Commission chairperson, wrote to Chief Henry Tuesday that she was at the scene during the aftermath of the ICE action when St. Paul officers remained in unmarked vehicles. "They were engaging the protesters and I personally witnessed both pepper balls and two types of aerosol gas ... deployed on peaceful protesters," she wrote. "While a few protesters were blocking vehicles, many ... were standing on sidewalks." Florman wrote that she saw objects thrown at police vehicles as they were being driven away, but didn't see anyone throwing items at officers "or anyone impeding their departure." "Instead of driving away from the crowd, one car of SPPD officers stopped and opened the doors of their vehicles to deploy so much gas it created a white-out," she wrote. "The officers were leaving the scene and stopped to deploy these agents even though they were safe inside their vehicles." During this time, Kerem Yücel of Minnesota Public Radio News was hit by a less-lethal munition in the shoulder. The senior visual journalist was taken to the hospital by an ambulance and has since been released.

In case you’re wondering how St Paul Police could ever treat their own residents like they did yesterday look at this unhinged statement from who the officers elect as their leaders.
St. Paul Police Federation Statement Regarding the Recent Immigration and Customs Enforcement Activity in St. Paul ST PAUL POMOS 1947 Yesterday morning, federal agents executing a warrant were assaulted, threatened, and blocked by a violent mob. They called us for help. We responded only to protect lives and restore order - nothing more. We do not do immigration enforcement. Never have, never will. A core of professional agitators refused every order, attacked officers with frozen bottles and rocks, damaged patrol cars, and shouted "Don't let them leave." Our officers, while being assaulted, used the absolute minimum force necessary to end the threat and get everyone home safe. Not one rioter was seriously injured. Several officers were struck by projectiles, yet every one of them showed extraordinary discipline and courage. This is not about politics. This is about public safety. We are not your adversary. We are your police. When the next mob comes, please stand with us - not against us. Our community deserves nothing less.

From the MN Society for Professional Journalists: St. Paul police shot three photojournalists (MPR, Reuters, Sahan Journal) with "less lethal" munitions during an ICE operation yesterday. One had to go to the hospital. They say they were specifically targeted by St. Paul police.
MNSPJ condemns St. Paul police attacks on journalists The Minnesota Society of Professional Journalists strongly condemns attacks on journalists by law enforcement on Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2025, during a federal operation in St. Paul. At least three local photojournalists were injured by less-lethal munitions deployed by St. Paul police officers while covering the story. One was transported to the hospital in an ambulance. All three journalists were clearly identified as press with badges and/or vests, in addition to having cameras in hand, clearly at work. All three photojournalists and multiple other local journalists on scene were also injured by chemical irritants. Kerem Yücel, with MPR News, was hit by a less-lethal munition in the shoulder and was transported to a hospital by ambulance. He has since been released and is recovering. Tim Evans, a freelance photojournalist with Reuters, was struck in the stomach with a pepper ball round. Aaron Nesheim, a photojournalist with Sahan Journal, was struck in the head with a pepper ball round. Evans and Nesheim did not require hospitalization. The three journalists hit by munitions shared with MNSPJ that they believe they were targeted by law enforcement for doing their jobs. Photojournalists are on the frontlines of documenting history and it is imperative that they are kept safe and their First Amendment rights are protected. Attacking journalists sends a message to both journalists and everyday citizens that their First Amendment rights will not be respected. The First Amendment protects the rights of journalists to report on their communities and provide information that communities need — information that, on Tuesday, was not transparently available from any law enforcement agency. We demand answers from St. Paul city leadership about why the city’s police department attacked our colleagues and a commitment to seeing that this will never happen again.

I'm still upset at Carter's handling of Tarek Tomes (now state CIO). Carter appointed Tomes to his office, replaced him with a project manager who had zero experience leading people.

My entire team was gutted for no reason, was still best team I worked with.
