I heard folks are wondering about the shadowy cabal of billionaires who have been funding handwarmers in the Twin Cities.

Stay tuned, we have a new Twin Cities supplies wishlist dropping after dinner! Be the shadowy cabal you want to see in the world. 💓

At the Alex Pretti memorial this afternoon, people are unfurling four very large banners.

They read, "How many more will ICE murder? How many more funerals? How many more...how many more?"

Good afternoon from downtown Chicago, where despite heavy snowfall, thousands have gathered for an anti-ICE/CBP demonstration in solidarity with the Twin Cities. More are still streaming in.

Lt. Illinois Gov. Juliana Stratton just addressed the crowd, and called for ICE to be abolished.

"But we are on a slide into full-blown authoritarianism, what if your ICE Watch group which is legal now gets targeted by a death squad in six months?"

I have some thoughts on this question.
The formula here is a lot simpler than finding an old hippie.

If you want to organize ICE Watch or grocery distributions, Signal is fine.

If you want to organize the kind of thing where even discussing it is a crime, in person only, in extremely small groups where you trust every single person.
I think it is *incredibly* irresponsible for someone like @stonekettle.bsky.social, with a huge following, to claim that Signal is just as insecure as texts or other public social media.

This is a classic “making perfect the enemy of the good” error.

We still don't know the names of the ICE agents who killed Gonzàlez behind the wheel of his car outside Chicago in September.

They were unmasked in this BWC footage from Franklin Park police.

If you have any information at all about these men—please text us on Signal at unraveled.66

look at them. murderers itching to murder again but these people chose to stay, to film, to witness, to risk being next, to risk having their families targeted, their names dragged through the mud before their bodies are even cold. i wish they did not have to be brave but i'm grateful that they are.
From Whittier a few hrs ago—after shooting & killing an ICE responder in Minneapolis, 37 yr old Alex Pretti, DHS agents brutalized a crowd that gathered & flooded the area w/ tear gas.

@andral404.bsky.social captured this moment against a building where a fed then pointed his rifle at someone.

Tonight, my Minneapolis neighborhood gathered on street corners and in our local park to mourn Alex Pretti.

This is our FOURTH vigil in eight months. No community should have to go through what we're going through.

There has been an increasing sense in Minneapolis that we are on our own, that our elected representatives are unwilling and/or unable to take action to get these murderous Nazi thugs out of our community. I really hope that changes today. The time for pleading TV hits ended weeks ago.

In solidarity with striking workers in MN, we will not be open for sales today.

Our doors will only be open for community in this extreme cold. We have heat, water, snacks, WiFi, and comfortable places to sit.

ICE OUT OF EVERYWHERE! Stay warm and take care of one another.

Kinda sick of people acting like MN has some unique juice that makes it possible for people to organize in ways no one else can.

It's the bs "talent" myth all over again. MN is organizing because Minnesotans decided they needed to no matter what. Y'all could do that to if you wanted to.
