Fuck Prime Day.

We guarantee zero billionaires in our seven-punks-in-a-trench-coat based collective, and can verify that the goblins who do our shipping only piss in bottles if they feel like it.

We've got books, zines, and games, check it out.

"My children are dead!"

A Palestinian prisoner released today was expecting to embrace his family, only to find out they had been killed weeks ago in Israel's genocidal war on Gaza.

My latest is the story of how my community has rallied to protect and defend our neighbors in recent days, as ICE has targeted the Rogers Park neighborhood in Chicago. "This is not a story about a moment of victory, but a moment of being reminded of our power."
They Came for Our Neighbors. We Showed Up.
Before long, there were dozens, and then hundreds of people in the streets, watching and responding.

With tear gas cannisters being thrown by feds like Mardi Gras beads, it's critical to understand that if you want to grab one and throw it back or off to the side, they are hotter than anything you've ever touched. You HAVE to have proper hand and arm protection.

"Is Portland on fire? Depends on if the person you ask is lying" is a hell of a journalistic low, even for the Times.
davidcorn.bsky.social
A classic case of irresponsible both-sidesism from the NYT. The story is that Trump and MAGA propagandists are lying about Portland to incite a conflict, not that there are different views of the matter.

This week on Live Like the World is Dying, Inmn & Miriam talk basic infrastructural systems for organizing outdoor gatherings of many kinds. Maybe you're organizing a workshop event or practicing preparedness and disaster relief models or going camping with 30-100 of your best friends...

Please blast this to your networks. the goal is to have as many people 888 407 4747 (US Department of State) between now and Sunday as possible. 2 of the 4 crew have been released, 2 are being held captive still (with uncertain access to live saving medications)

Trump's first attack on antifa will be the deaths of hundreds as we all fight amongst ourselves to see who can make the best "girlfriend of the founder of antifa" joke.

Please consider signing the petition & joining us in #BoycottWindmillMushrooms

I live in Moscow, #Idaho & we’ve been boycotting from the beginning by careful sourcing & avoiding ALL mushrooms from Sunnyside, WA. It’s been a bit inconvenient but possible even here!

We're not in the business of giving advice to nation states but here goes:

Hey, Germany? No one was asking for you to declare yourself the world authority on defining antisemitism.

I wrote a post about Palestine and then got an angry email from someone in Germany about it. Least surprising development of the day. Oh antideutsch, keep disappointing everyone.

35) The Immortal Choir Holds Every Voice by @margaret.bsky.social

I'm a bit late to this one, but I finally managed to sit down for it and it is lovely. Really, really special. Margaret's prose is as good as always but the themes and stories are just... Its really something special. Worth reading~
The cover illustration of The Immortal Choir holds every Voice by Margaret Killjoy, featuring a mysterious bull illuminated by fire.

The weird magic world of Danielle Cain has only gotten better with time, but the execution is a little different from prior books in the series, where the focus had been Danielle and her small found family and their adventures. This book sees them taking a break, literally, pausing to wait out the night and sharing stories and these stories are what we are privy to.

And they are excellent; all different flavors of weird with varying levels of darkness to them. They harken back to the first novelle with specific characters but outside of that they can be enjoyed on their own if so desired.

Admittedly, they can get very unpleasant; there are some dark concepts at play here. Not just in the magical sense, but in the human sense. Without spoiling too much, the third story in particular is very, very prescient to our current political climate and paints a picture about how dangerous things can become very easily.

In a way, I appreciated that. The stories become a little educational; a little something more. And the biggest thing it gave me was hope. I'm not naive enough to think that everything will be hunky-dory is we just believe it will. If that was the case, we'd never have been in this situation to begin with. But the stories do give me strength in the idea of human will. In how similar we all are and how we all face common evils.

It really is a great book; maybe even the best in the series. Its truly special. Worth reading and cherishing for a long time to come. I hope Margaret does more in this series, I do love these characters, but if it never happens, this is a fine send off for sure.
