Same for CBS News and ABC News -- two richly resourced media companies that caved for their own, narrow purposes and made things immeasurably harder for smaller news organizations with thinner margins.
One reason why elite schools (Columbia, Brown, Cornell) caving to Trump’s illegal impoundment and extortion is so galling — a betrayal, really — is that they would have won had they fought. By giving up, they guaranteed every other school will have to fight harder.

You were incredible, Alice Wong, and it was a blessing to have collaborated with you on projects, to have read your words and to have heard your voice, as full of life and passion and joy and rage as it was.

You made a difference—so much of a difference.

Rest always in peace, and always in power.

Really wonderful work rate from the squad tonight
Per OPTA, the xG was 0.66-0.42 in favour of the #CanMNT vs. Ecuador

Considering they played 85 minutes down a player... that's an impressive outing from Jesse Marsch's side

National news media has been absent on this project which is absolutely amongst the most controversial of all the proposed major projects. Quebec gov essentially asking Feds to help force a road through Inuit lands in another province without their consent.

Thinking today how homelessness runs through this story, through Epstein's (Virginia Guiffre had been homeless before meeting him), and even through Gaiman's (his nanny was sleeping on the beach when Palmer recruited her, and he used threats of homelessness against another victim).

Councillor Holyday worries about retail stores that "sell some zany thing that has very little value." He wants to know if council could define a list of what stores can sell.

Staff say they can regulate things like size, noise and property standards, but generally not what stores sell.

A thought: What if the Carney government abandoned its obsession with “A.I.” and instead tried to “accelerate” Canadian arts and culture? With more visual and financial literacy in schools, media preparedness on the air, dance classes for seniors, and funding for CAF’s civilian artists program?
“Despite $30 - $40 billion in enterprise investment into GenAI, this report uncovers a surprising result in that 95% of organizations are getting zero return.”

#Sens basically give Pinto everything he wanted. Decent money, shorter term, 10-team NTC in the final two years. Did they think his value would’ve only increased if they waited until January or February?

Glad Graeme was able to catch this, and his story speaks to the importance of primary care in Canada. There are thousands of Canadians without access to a doctor, and hence, millions of lives that could be impacted even though we have the ability to spot and respond to many diseases early.

This a big deal: "China’s carbon dioxide emissions have been flat or falling for 18 months"

China's economy has grown by ~5% in the last year, so this comprehensively debunks the idea (again) that emissions are tied to growth. So yes, faster progress needed, but this is how you turn the corner.
