I stay playing D'Angelo around the house and in the car but today I made my daughters really sit and listen to the first half of Voodoo. They were obedient but I can't wait until they "discover" him on their own time. I know they're going to be mesmerized.

And the fact that Monique is coming back...because of Stacy lmaooooo

Ole girl has the whole show on her back at this point

I didn't even know about this book!

Because Tia's "wealth" is not coming across on screen, chile lmaooo

If it wasn't for Karen and Stacey, these girls would be talking about absolutely nothing.

“I am grateful for your thoughts and prayers during these very difficult times, it has been a very rough and sad year [..] I ask that you please continue to keep me in your thoughts as it will not be easy, but one thing that both my parents thought me was to be strong, and I intend to do just that.”

Their convo was about how she's been wearing the ring for weeks and thought someone would ask about it, but no one did.

Might be a sign that people don't really care, but good luck to them.

At some point we're gonna have to interrogate why people are more trusting of a chat bot than someone who obviously has first hand knowledge of something.

I don't even know who would do a D'Angelo tribute justice. I'mma think on it, but man. What a loss.

And I need BET to show their ASS for the tribute. I’m. Not. Playing.

3 classic albums. No skips. Love songs. Liberation songs. Sensual songs. Fun songs. Black ass music. 51 is too young. D'Angelo can't be gone.

I'm seriously gutted by this D'Angelo news. This hit me hard and I didn't know the man, but his artistry shaped so much for me.

What type of whodunit do y'all like best?

1) when the audience knows who did it and the journey is to figure out why and if they'll be found out

2) when the audience + characters learn who did it and why together
beequammie.bsky.social
Ohh this is a good point

OR

2 with recontextualizeable (is that a word?) easter eggs / checkov's guns early on in the story

2 definitely. There should be omniscient narrator or deus ex machina clues before hand that the audience can see that the characters can't though. That way I can feel smarter than the smart one who figures it out after I do.

I love both! The first is great when the protagonist is the murderer, but the second is great too tho

I like them both equally. It just depends on the story.
The story in the first option has to be very compelling to keep the readers interest. Whereas in the second one a lot of readers will stick around just to find out who did it.
