Counterpoint: For white people knowing a lot about our family trees can serve to make acts of race treason more thorough, and to address the revisionism that's an essential component of most of the keeping of family histories, which in turn can help descendants of people our families have wronged.
Knowing too much about or caring excessively about your family lineage is fascist to me.
