This @hunterw.bsky.social story about his encounter with one of Trump's paranoid special agents is, in a word, gobsmacking. It includes a Ron Swanson reference that will make @kentremendous.bsky.social shake his head (at least.) If you don't already, support TPM talkingpointsmemo.com/news/meet-th...

Epstein Barr has also been proven to be a cause of MS, as well as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, some lymphomas and stomach cancers. I was never symptomatic for EB but my mother had it, and now I have MS. Someone is working on an mRNA vaccine that could effectively stop MS entirely too

It's not a new observation at this point but that wild Noem/Lewandowski story in WSJ really brings home the extent to which all the Trump 2 cabinet-level goblins see their jobs as flying private, doing short-form video, and screaming at underlings. They all hate each other and none of them can read.

sf is one of the richest cities in the US

we should follow this example to fund muni, fund our schools and fund social housing
Holy moly: Seattle’s millionaire tax, passed last year, is expected to bring in $115 million in its 1st year, way more than the $50 million anticipated.

The funds will go to the city’s new social housing developer publicola.com/2026/02/11/t...

(Is NY Gov Hochul paying attention?)
Seattle’s millionaire tax is a huge success. Here is how grassroots groups beat big money and are now raising tons of money for mixed income, rent stabilized housing. (We call it “social housing.”)

Remember when we all voted to support Lisa Ramirez for CA 40? Well she is the attorney who represents the father of the 3 U.S. Marines who just had his deportation case dismissed.

We sure are proud of her and the work she does while also running for Congress!

honestly tired of trying to convince people that trump's immigration policy is not really about violent undocumented immigrants or even just undocumented immigrants, but immigrants in general and even non-white people more broadly.

Setting aside the fact that they lightened both Mamdani & Crockett, why the hell did they put Nazi Tattoo guy front & center given that he’s the only one of the three who’s never won an election for anything?
A base that has long made pragmatic, sober decisions appears increasingly attracted to charismatic outsiders who promise to break from the party’s failures of the last decade. They see their party’s leaders as feckless and inept.

Including disabled people in our utopian futures pushes back against a eugenicist ideal.
I have a friend who said, of Starfleet Academy, that this took them out of it - that seeing a person in a wheelchair in the 32nd century seemed unrealistic, since medicine in Star Trek "should be able to cure whatever was wrong with them."

That's not the case, for any number of possible reasons.

This is so much worse than what took down Nixon, difference was that then the media did not like Nixon and wasn't trying to help him and today the media is controlled by the Epstein-Oligarch class and so is part of the same conspiracy that Trump is and buries it

white culture is never having your beliefs interrogated
Trump nominated a legit white nationalist to a top post at the State Department. I asked him some basic questions about his belief in the “erasure of white culture”. Watch this embarrassing, fumbling answer. Like he has never before been asked to explain his views.
