This is Fani Quita. She is trying to get rid of her hiccups with puppy eyes. We cannot fathom how this isn't working. 12/10

I can't emphasize enough that none of this is exaggeration or clickbait.
One minute, you're an originalist Trump judge; the next minute, you're the subject of national scrutiny for having given a best-in-class award to a law student who argued that the Constitution is only for white people ballsandstrikes.org/legal-cultur...

How originalism led to Trump judge John Badalamenti handing out a law school paper arguing that the Constitution is only for white people.

It's such a weird aspect of Western society that no right wing voter is ever responsible for their own vote.
They were tricked, or driven to it by seeing pronouns in an email, but deep down they're good people who just happen to always vote for destructive monsters who destroy our society, shrug.

There's an interesting cognitive bias called the Misinformation Effect.

It is very easy to study this. Take people, show them a video of, say, a man buying a hot dog at a street cart.

Then, make them read very confident but very wrong descriptions of that event.

You can literally just tell the pharmacist you’re fat and/or depressed and you can qualify for a Covid booster.

Keeping in mind that the BMI number for obesity is incredibly low so a LOT of folks qualify and don’t realize it.

(BMI is a bullshit metric based on racism and ableism.)
Hopefully this helps people know what to say to their doctor or pharmacist to get the vaccine. I do worry abt going on record w a “pre-existing condition” (PEC) bc they will eventually repeal those ACA protections, but fuck it: they will consider everything a PEC when time comes to reject coverage.

I know a lot of people are boycotting Amazon, which is great, but it's hurting a lot of trans authors.

Trans authors: Drop links to your NON-AMAZON book listings/storefronts.

Cis people: Repost, boost, and, importantly, buy. Part of boycotting an evil corporation is supporting the alternatives.

I can see ANORA’s arc post-Oscar from space. General audiences will see it and not understand what the fuss is about. “Wait, aren’t Big Movies About Important Things supposed to win?” Never mind that ANORA is about important things, it’s just not insistent about them. (1)

The greatest David Lynch thing I’ve ever seen was a 1 minute short in an anthology called Lumière and Company. A bunch of filmmakers had 1 shot for 1 minute; everyone else produced various fairly static scenes, little movement, no possibility of cuts. Then Lynch does this: youtu.be/p7EJwCr5Yew?...

1. Did you know that Girl Scouts has, for a long time, accepted trans girls and nonbinary scouts?

Trans kids are under attack. Every year, I make a thread of trans and nonbinary girl scouts you can get your cookies from.

Lets get our cookies from them this year in solidarity!

Kind of disappointed in @apnews.com reporting here. They made sure to mention that he was born in the US and that he wasn’t from one of those “problem” Asian backgrounds as if it matters when deciding if this is wrong.

Still wrong if he was a Chinese immigrant from Extra Chinese Province, China.
