Yo! I'm babelglyph. I wear ridiculous things, mainly #LolitaFashion but sometimes cosplay, steampunk, vintage, or whatever else floats my boat. My two core fashion philosophies are "pay your bills then buy frills" and "shitpost hard, coord harder". Here are a few of my recent outfits!
I'm assisting with an effort to document/analyze both the fiber content and the design (solid/print/pattern) of the main fabrics used for Angelic Pretty JSKs.

I doubted this, so I spent part of tonight looking up stats for just the parts of the US and Canada that I tend to drive in. Turns out yeah! Even when narrowed to just a handful of counties/regions, in 2021, the lowest fatalities-per-100k-population in WNY was still 1.5x the highest in the GTA.
Insane but true fact: making US roads as safe as Canadian, Australian, or European roads would save more lives than eliminating murder from the US.

The people who make Shein's clothes labor for ten to twelve hours per day (in violation of China's labor laws), some up to seven days a week, and earn as little as 15 to 30 cents per t-shirt.

This is Shein's supply chain. The factories are contracted to make clothes on order - some small, some big. If the chinos are a hit, orders will ramp up and so must production. Factories then hire temporary workers to meet the demand their permanent staff cannot fulfil.
The migrant worker from Jiangxi is looking for a short-term contract - and the chinos are an option.
"We earn so little. The cost of living is now so high," she says, adding that she hopes to make enough to send back to her two children who are living with their grandparents.
