I think the fact that IDEA has never come close to being fully funded is a much, much bigger issue than whether some status-obsessed media people think too many students at elite colleges have extra time accommodations.
Today marks the 50th anniversary of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. The federal government has never lived up to its commitment to shoulder 40 percent of the cost. Now, advocates want the feds to pony up, @juliametraux.bsky.social writes.

I think the fact that IDEA has never come close to being fully funded is a much, much bigger issue than whether some status-obsessed media people think too many students at elite colleges have extra time accommodations.

Apparently every Chinese academic in any field of “interest” to the PLA is getting their visa rejected for, more or less, presumptively being a spy. My friend’s visa is denied because she studies “neuroscience.” What she actually studies is jaw pain - but ICE is flatly rejecting all appeals.
