It only took four of us making a two-minute public comment about the library at the city council meeting for the councilors to restore the funding the mayor’s office had cut.
I really can't emphasize enough that if you care about local politics, all you gotta do is show up. Just a regular schmegular person showing up. Literally just show up consistently in person and within a remarkably short amount of time, you will have a shocking amount of influence.

the principal just emailed us some bs tik tok video about "don't complain about the kids not doing 100% if you're not doing 100%" with some weak-ass "we can't do it without you!" message and I can't express enough how much constantly being told we're not doing our jobs well enough is NOT motivating

even if everything they say is true about the drugs etc it's like, this logic is just whacked put nonsense. no one's getting back in a bombed pit boat going "ugh, inconvenient! I gotta keep these drugs flowing and this really sets me back!"

we're coming to the end of this life simulator/ financial literacy unit I've been doing with my students (culminating in retirement plans) and a majority of students want to plan their own funerals. I told them that's too dark but they all seem to be so excited by the concept???
