Look I know I said Boneyard Beach wasn't named so because of all the boning going on, but I'd like to amend that statement

I have no idea how many worms are present in this orgy, diversifying the gene pool in the tide pool

I love how male leptogaster robberflies don't even pretend to be in charge of sexy time. Just dangling off the end of the female. They saw the life cycle of those male anglerfish on a documentary and thought hey that's not half bad.

Small things that make me happy: spotting a little hovering pair of big-headed flies on the trail ❤️
This pair helped start this weekend's bug wander in a new place properly

DEATHBALL SPONGE 💀
WILD: Just in time for Halloween, scientists have discovered 30 new species in the Southern Ocean — including a carnivorous “death-ball” sponge that traps prey with tiny hooks.

An incredible reminder of how much more there is to learn about the deep sea. https://bit.ly/49bF17R

I'm not sure why all my silly little guys lately are various breads, but here. Have some bread. 🥖🧶

I forget how easy sour cream pound cake is to make every time I make it, and that's probably for the best or I'd just be 20% cake by weight

Chalcoscirtus children are very much ground dwelling creatures but in March/April the boys get adventurous looking for love and can sometimes be found way out of their comfort zones. This tiny lad was at the top of a fence post peering at things he'd never seen before
