I asked what I should use instead of firefox and someone said “floorp” and I legitimately thought it was a bit for like five minutes. tech has gone beyond making the torment nexus real to making poob real.

My favourite thing I heard of like this is a debugging feature in Alien Isolation where instead of hissing the Alien states aloud what it's thinking about.

thing about graphical realism is that a lot of the games that cynically chase after it don't care enough about the visual language of film they are trying to copy to make the realism actually interesting let alone work in games. something as basic as colour palette and scene framing is a good one

Not the most sophisticated example, but:
In The Sims 2 after you go through a tedious process to turn your sim into a plantsim (that has fewer needs but requires water and sunlight to live), you can make the dumb choice to also turn them into a vampire (so they die when exposed to sunlight).
