There have been a lot of small inflection points where people who were not skeptical of AI as an industry started to get there but the RAM crisis is huge because it negatively impacts everyone but specifically the people most likely to cape for it in a tangible, real way.

One of (many) reasons I stopped subscribing to Spotify is that I do more to materially support artists by buying one (1) album on Bandcamp than I would by streaming someone's music for a whole year
okay I did a lil research and looks like Tidal beats out Apple Music in paying artists, but comparable, and both beat Spotify by a wide margin.
weirdly, Amazon Music does more than Tidal?? and then Qobuz. (the top is Peloton lol, so I guess if you have a peloton bike you're paying artists a lot)

I worked on a doomed F2P Game of Thrones game. Management had given up, so we were free to do what we wanted. I'm still chasing the high of stable two week sprints with presentations and retros every other Friday, almost ten years later
What’s the most fun game you ever worked on? I don’t mean the game itself being fun but the team/people you were with. My most fun one was GRiD with Codemasters, I really loved the environment art team, we had so many laughs during that project even though the overtime was very high. #gamedev

And you should only be allowed to participate in daytrading if you're willing to stand in a hall with twelve hundred others and shout numbers at a guy in front of a big scoreboard

I used to do this all the time with pulp sci-fi books. I'd pick up second-hand paperbacks with the worst covers and just read them. It's how I read Pigeons from Hell (horrible!) and Rendezvous with Rama II (delightful!)
