“atheism is responsible for trump! atheism is responsible for gamergate!” what life must be like for you, unable to meaningfully parse the events around you, but chiming in anyway. contributing nothing of value yet getting put on my feed all the same. your world must be fascinating and stupid.

“atheists think all religion is christianity!” and you think all atheism is some guy on reddit 10-20 years ago. why don’t you make some identical whiny, projecting posts about it every day forever some more about it?

Pritzker should be held responsible for the police nominally under his control; that being said, this is going to be a problem for every politician you try to sell us on as a savior. Because everyone of them, and many of their supporters, refuses to actually confront what the police are doing.

The pattern is they fire a ton of people, say they made a mistake, and then selectively rehire back only the most mediocre white men.

This is why Black women's unemployment has spiked, the federal government used to be the largest employer of Black women until these monte carlo firings

New reporting: many apparently fired at CDC in 'error'. This is a failure by design given that the admin does not care about fulfilling agency missions. This is the kind of error that should have political consequences.

Unserious people cause real-world harm.

yeah! not always reliably, but its still worth actually buying the skills now for when things line up. She was pulling off multiple Aim +10 hits on Belias in the next battle.

sorry to keep FFT-posting all day every day. this was one of my special interest games back in old times. previously I managed to keep myself from Star Ocean 2-posting, Suikoden-posting and Legend of Mana-posting this much but the dam finally burst.

the way Aim worked in the previous editions you almost always gave up enough time for the enemy to move. because it charge time and speed were completely different stats, so Aim got progressively worse as units got faster. with the charge time reduction, you can reliably hit the stupid numbers

just to highlight when I said archer was massively improved in this remake, here is my archer with a spear right before she hit a knight for 798 damage using Aim +20, a skill that was laughably unusable in previous versions. Even accounting for her level and zodiac compatibility, that's big number.
A screenshot from Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles. Jenet, an archer, is preparing to use the skill Aim +20 on a knight for 798 damage.

despite everything else, we're truly living in the golden age of mega man legends inspired visuals. if there is nothing positive you can say about our current era other than that then you're right, but still you can at least say that.

Mamdani promises to deploy *hundreds* if lawyers to fight for trans rights, create a new office of LGBTQ affairs, and allocate millions of dollars to fund housing and healthcare for trans kids and adults

This is what fighting back looks like--elevating activists to materually support trans people.

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 4: Sylvia Rivera

In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.

As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.

They're talking about killing leftist activists. They're talking about murdering people organizing in defense of immigrant communities, doing mutual aid work, and protesting their violence. They are talking about murdering people like me and my friends. We must do more than acknowledge it's fascism.

My gosh. After the US bombed multiple boats in the middle of the ocean, murdering people on grounds that they were allegedly "carrying drugs," the US Attorney General says "Just like we did with cartels, we're going to take the same approach, President Trump, with Antifa."

like, I get it. it can be frustrating if you're suffering or struggling in some way and you see general advice that you've already tried or that seems, or is, impossible for you, especially if you feel alone and isolated. but "abstractly frustrating" is not the same as "a personal insult."
joffeorama.bsky.social
a lot of people need to learn the lesson "advice given to a general audience and not you specifically does not necessarily have to account for you, a stranger's, specific circumstances and isn't a personal insult against you if it doesn't." its clearly not learned naturally, please take the time.

the ability to create infinite new kinds of woman, each with different battlefield mechanics and equipment loadouts, the ultimate video game that still eludes us despite our technology and progress.

I'm going to need a new game with a "make weird builds for characters" fix after I finish FFT but I don't know what that is yet.

its not just me right? the fucking wikipedia article even goes “this fable is so well known that french perverts would name their titty pictures after it and people would still get the reference.” what does she think she’s better than the french now??
a clip from the Wikipedia entry on The Ant and The Grasshopper. Under the heading “In Art” is a painting by Jules-Joseph Lefebvre of a naked dame with sweet cans titled “The Grasshopper”

just found out that my girlfriend doesn’t know the fable “the ant and the grasshopper” and was like “whats that?” and this is fucking me up. its weird, right? its like you know someone and then one day they go “cinderella? who’s that? have I met them?”

FFT is a real "master and break it" game so after years of ninja monks and calculators I appreciate being able to break it in entirely new ways. Jumping geomancer with an axe is also a good one, since jump ignores' the axe's unreliable damage formula and just focuses on the high attack power.
joffeorama.bsky.social
my main archer is equipped with a holy spear, boosted further with a japa mala, who can either one-shot with Aim or break a character with Art of War from two squares away and it is a genuinely fun build that would've been pointless in the original version. she's a beast alongside my pole mystic.
joffeorama.bsky.social
the FFT remake redeemed the otherwise terrible Archer job to the point where its actually solid to use. the secret sauce is it can equip both shields and clothing (which have the best stat boosts) so you can throw on an "Equip [Weapon]" skill and make otherwise impossible combos of items and skills.
