Fifty years. No issues. Actual members fine with it. Until a small number of people decided to hound trans women out of their communities for no reason but spite.

(The govt could stop this at any point by the way - they are choosing not to because they agree with it)
The article explicitly notes WI had had a trans-inclusive policy *since the 1970s*!
Seems there has been some co-ordination.

I'm not sure who is showing the least competence here - the Home Secretary or the civil servants that let this go unchallenged. This new law would make tens of thousands of sailors and small boat owners into criminals, simply by owning a chart or having access to a digital one.
The Home Secretary wants to make reading Naval Publication 28 a criminal offence.

Aside from being totally pointless, this is a profoundly stupid idea.

Of British adults who feel Brexit has been harmful to the UK, over 75% favour the UK joining the Single Market and Customs Union as a way to lower the tax burden and boost money for public services.

Imagine being turned away from a bathroom, hospital, or cinema for “not looking female enough”. The leaked EHRC guidance could do just that. Along with my Lib Dem colleagues, I’ve written to the Minister calling for new, inclusive, practical guidance that protects everyone’s rights.

Richard Tice’s comments are irresponsible and shameful.

There is no "overdiagnosis crisis" of children with neurodiverse issues.

The real crisis is a SEND system on its knees, where parents fight for every scrap of support and children are left without the help they desperately need and deserve.
MP hits back at Richard Tice over ‘dangerous’ SEND diagnosis remarks
Adam Dance says Richard Tice’s remarks risk taking the country backwards on inclusion and neurodiversity support

This is another excellent reason for the BBC not to cave in to Trump's threats.
I mean, he's no longer pretending that it's anything other than a protection racket.
"Nice media corporation you've got there. Shame if something was to happen to it!"
Lawyers in the US are apparently lining up to defend the Beeb pro Bono (for free) because to go to court would mean a public examination of King Donald the Mad's conduct before and after the riot.

Not to mention the programme wasn’t shown in US and he won the election anyway.

If he can’t stop him attacking one of our most precious institutions and hitting millions of licence fee payers in the pocket, what was the point?

It was great to join BBC Radio Oxford yesterday to take calls from listeners.

I am so pleased to see progress on Lodge Hill after many years of campaigning on this issue by local residents and Oxfordshire Lib Dems.

The works will greatly improve congestion around Abingdon.

Absolutely right. I criticise BBC News, because we need it to be as good as we know it can be. People like Farage criticise the BBC, because they work for its competitors and don't want it to exist.
🎯 Davey is spot on. "We can have criticism of the BBC, but within that, we need to recognise how valuable an institution it is [and how] precious to our country. And that's one of the reasons why people like President Trump and Nigel Farage, want to undermine the BBC." 👏🏽~AA
