Our voting system is broken.

It's time for a change that truly reflects what voters want.

It's #SmallBusinessSaturday — a great chance to support the brilliant independents that keep our high streets thriving.

I recently visited The Handlebar Café in Oxford for brunch with my team. Fantastic food, friendly people, and a reminder of how important our local businesses are.

The Tories botched Brexit deal has left us £90 billion worse per year.

The Lib Dems have a plan for a Customs Union with the EU that would bring around £25 billion to the economy.

The Lib Dems will bring a vote on this next week and I hope Labour backbenchers will support us.

The Secretary of State for Health is absolutely right that the NHS must innovate and renew.

I am concerned that the focus on physical health in last weeks budget risks deprioritising mental health instead.

Today I asked the Prime Minister if he would look at Lib Dem plans to introduce a regulator and a cap on outrageous, rip-off service charges.

The stories of Allison and Rebecca being ripped off by the wild west of the service charge sector are sadly all too common.

The news that the NHS may now have to pay up to £3 billion more for drugs from the US is concerning.

There needs to be clarity from the Government about who exactly will pay for this.

The Government shouldn't prioritise economic growth over the health of the NHS.

Two big health stories today. 1) The price of drugs is going to go up and we don’t have clarity on who is paying for it. 2) Doctors strikes have been announced at a time when we’re facing a mega flu outbreak and a likely Covid spike in new year.  Many questions here.

It was great to visit Fitzharrys School for UK Parliament Week. I had thoughtful discussions with A Level Politics students and the School Council on a wide range of topics. A hugely encouraging day with some highly engaged young people.

In yesterday's Budget debate, I raised the issue of mental health services.

I am alarmed by reports that the Government may water down the investment standard for mental health.

This investment has proven to be vital in creating a parity between physical and mental health.

I'm so pleased that the two-child benefit cap has been scrapped, something the Lib Dems have long campaigned for.

However, the Chancellor missed a huge opportunity to reverse the £90bn a year cost of the Tories botched Brexit deal and announce a new UK-EU Customs Union.

Around 300,000 women have been affected as a result of being administered DES to prevent miscarriages.

It was right that the Health Secretary apologised for this, but more must be done.

I am pleased that he will meet with me and campaigners to discuss the issue further.

On Monday, market traders in Oxford were telling me how shoppers are hanging off doing their Christmas shopping as they wait for The Budget.

Shoppers are worried about how much money they will have in their pocket after tomorrow's Budget and the speculation has only added to it.

It was great to meet traders in Oxford’s Covered Market ahead of today's Budget. Traders explained how costs and staffing pressures continue to bite. An emergency VAT cut would give our local hospitality and retail sectors the support they urgently need. www.oxfordmail.co.uk/news/2564685...

As we approach the Budget, I have written to the Chancellor, urging her to take action on Cost-of-Living and SEND provision.

Both of these issues are major concerns for my constituents and the Lib Dems have a plan to tackle them.

You can see my letters to the Chancellor below:

My thoughts are first and foremost with those who lost loved ones or live with life-limiting conditions like Long Covid. The Inquiry’s finding that an earlier lockdown could have saved 23,000 lives is devastating. We must learn lessons: act early, protect lives & jobs, and ensure Govt is prepared.

I know that flooding is something which my constituents are worried about.

The rainfall over the weekend raised concerns, particularly in South Abingdon, which has been badly hit recently.

The EA have flood barriers ready to go in the event of future flood threats in the area.

Many constituents write to me to say how shocked they are that international law often fails to hold those accountable for their actions.

We have a duty to bolster international law, not undermine it.

Today I asked for an update on the UK's response to the ICJ advisory opinion.

I join Calum in his calls for urgent action. The Secretary of State should step in and issue an immediate directive to the Environment Agency to clear up the illegal dump as has been done in similar previous cases. The National Crime Agency should also be brought in to investigate this vile crime.
The contaminated waste piled high in a field near Kidlington is now washing into River Cherwell. In the last 48 hours, the water level has risen 4+ feet and is lapping against the illegal dump.

We stand on the edge of an environmental disaster. We need urgent action from the Environment Agency.

The climate crisis is absolutely real and we must shift to renewable sources of energy.

However, there are significant issues with the Botley West solar farm plans.

The developers must cooperate with the planning inspectorate and offer more community benefit to the local area.

It was great to join BBC Radio Oxford yesterday to take calls from listeners.

I am so pleased to see progress on Lodge Hill after many years of campaigning on this issue by local residents and Oxfordshire Lib Dems.

The works will greatly improve congestion around Abingdon.

Today is Armistice Day.

As we fall silent at 11am, we remember all those who have lost their lives in war and conflict around the world.

Lest we forget.

Research by Crisis shows that nearly 300,000 families are currently experiencing the worst forms of homelessness in England.

I have signed a cross-party letter in today's Times, calling on the Government to act now to tackle this issue once and for all.

Today is Remembrance Sunday.

Last week, I placed a stake in the House of Commons Garden of Remembrance, for all those who fought for the freedoms we enjoy today.

Lest we forget.

I was shocked by the revelations in the ITV News Investigation into the DES Scandal.

That is why I have written to Wes Streeting, asking for an update into the Department for Health & Social Care's investigation into the generational impact of DES.

On Tuesday, I attended the Remembering Gaza ceremony in London.

I was honoured to give a speech drawing on this years theme of Hope and Renewal.

In my speech, I focused on the need for us to come together and remind people what our glorious homeland of Palestine has to offer.
