We fact-checked the first hearing of the GOP House committee re-investigating Jan. 6.

At one point, a member suggested Biden was president during the riot - which would be impossible without time travel.

A Republican-led congressional subcommittee is leading a new investigation into the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol. Do their claims add up?

So she had a pulse. That’s what the doctor on the scene wanted to check. She wasn’t breathing, but she had a pulse. He could have started CPR right away.

Instead ICE barred the doctor from attending her and waited 15 mins for EMT to get to her.

The thing is, some people can make mistakes, get things wrong, be careless, etc. But that’s not what Jennings did here. Jennings knowingly, purposefully and intentionally lied to utterly distort what was said, which CNN pays him to do every day. CNN is the enabler of this.

Seems as if this works — if employers start firing people for standing up for their neighbors and fellow humans — than a remedy is publicizing the identity of those employers.
Publishing the names of protesters and contacting their employers to have them fired for exercising their rights is a tactic straight out of the White Citizens Councils.
They're going to start using the Kirk witch hunt strategy.

Holy shit.

Renee Good was alive when the bystander physician asked to check her pulse. She was alive when ICE refused to let him help. She was alive when they told him “I don’t care.”

Some decent percentage of Americans will naturally view ICE’s behavior with revulsion. Another decent percentage can be persuaded eventually of ICE’s indecency. The remainder is irredeemable but hopefully can be curb-stomped electorally.
these are some pretty catastrophic approval numbers for ICE mom-murderers

they will not improve

Two days ago we learned that Federal agents showed up at a Washington Post reporter’s home, searched it, seized her phone and two laptops. We also learned that the Post's owner, Jeff Bezos, remained silent that day. No words of support.

Well, Thursday came and went and still nothing from Bezos.

Democrats must respect the precious views of every last diner patron in every red state but any time any Republican has been asked about any protest for 10+ years they say "paid protesters" instead of acknowledging tens of millions of Americans are going for free to stand up for what we believe in
"You're seeing a lot of paid protesters" -- Rep. Mike Haridopolos's attempt to defend ICE's tactics in Minneapolis during a CNN panel discussion this morning did not go well. Bad used car salesman vibes.

This is important and, also, not not new. There were reports of this in LA, Portland, and Chicago, at least, as well.
Just so people outside of MN know - a lot of the US citizens getting “arrested” by ICE never get processed at Whipple. They are roughed up during the arrest and then often dropped off miles from where they were picked up. It means we don’t know the true scale of what ICE is doing based on ICE stats

If you have a Republican rep, look up what they said about gun control or Jade Helm. What did they say about Jan 6th. Read it to them.
Miller: "In MN, the insurrectionists are confronting our officers on the street. They're being arrested. This is a natl security priority. Arrests of insurrectionists are made every day, and each provide us an opportunity to learn about the network from a law enforcement & natl security standpoint"

They literally always accuse protesters of being paid because 1) it shifts the terrain of the debate and 2) it reassures their base that no one legitimately holds a contrary position. They take comfort in thinking that anyone who disagrees with Trump is either brainwashed or a cynic.
ICE keeps saying the people protesting it are being paid without any evidence, but we have receipts showing that the people *defending* ICE are absolutely being paid.

And yet we only hear lies about the former on cable news.

Virginia's legislative session only started yesterday, and it was a very big day.

The House already passed four constitutional amendments on Day 1:
—protect abortion rights
—repeal the same-sex marriage ban
—allow mid-decade redistricting
—greatly expand voting rights restoration.

Next: Senate.

the state certifies the winner
the winners go to washington
they convene a new house
they choose a speaker

notice who isn't involved here? the president or the current speaker or the senate.
