Yeah I'm a socialist because socialists are trying to make things better. Retweets =/= endorsements. He/him. Performative male without the milky drinks.

This likely won't stop anyone, but don't read everything online, especially social media, as serious?

In Kenya, American funds had helped feed hundreds of thousands of refugees. When it was cut, children starved.

In South Sudan, U.S. aid had been helping to stave off a cholera epidemic. Then the disease came roaring back.

Tomorrow at 4 pm ET, join us for a discussion about the gutting of USAID:

... is that a rule?
House Oversight hearing on ICE opens with the rules:

"It is also a clear violation of the rules of the House to make statements that might personally be offensive to the President or the Vice President of the United States."

"We left with all of my children" is a very strange thing to say.
VAN HOLLEN: Did you in fact make the visit to Epstein's private island?

LUTNICK: I did have lunch w/ him as I was on a boat going across on a family vacation. My wife was with me as were my 4 children and nannies. We had lunch on the island. That's true. For an hour. We left with all of my children

need one of those german train-car noun constructions for ‘the sense of betrayal a woman suffers when a thinker who was hugely influential to her turns out to be the same bog standard worthless misogynist as everyone else’
“That’s particularly true now with the hysteria that has developed about abuse of women, which has reached the point that even questioning a charge is a crime worse than murder."

In lieu of Discord’s age verification policies, time to make another post about the dangers of online censorship (especially in connection to child trafficking).

Tl;dr: These policies are about surveillance, profit, and data mining…not about ‘saving the children.’

Friendly reminder that the only reason DHS has that huge pile of cash in the first place is because Chuck folded in November. So when people try to tell you he's doing the best he can right now they conveniently leave that part out.

really hard to overstate how much AIPAC fucked up here - not only did they push out the more pro-Israel candidate for not toeing their exact line, they started a blood feud with him and are clearly in the process of making themselves completely unwelcome in Dem politics
BIG NEWS FROM NJ-11: former Rep. Tom Malinowski concedes, congratulates Analilia Mejia on a positive and well-run campaign, blames AIPAC for his loss, and promises to vigorously oppose anyone AIPAC backs against Mejia in June

So anyway, it’s now come out that several of the board members of Activision Blizzard during the time of our walkouts around the treatment of women were all heavily featured in the Epstein files. This is my not shocked face.

the IOC loves to remind you that they are bad even when you are at peak enjoyment of the Olympics
The International Olympic Committee has told a Ukrainian skeleton athlete he cannot wear a helmet that commemorates the lives of Ukrainian athletes lost since Russia’s invasion in competition at the Winter Games, saying it breaks Olympic rules on neutrality.

Just emailed Hasbro (hasbro-new.custhelp.com/app/ask). It may be yelling at the wind (... it IS yelling at the wind) but they need to know people pay attention to this.

It isn't just about toys, it is about the workers who can't lose their jobs being forced to work on the bigot engine.

I've made the hard decision to back out of DragonCon this year.

I want to be clear that this has nothing to do with the convention, and everything to do with the cleptocratic, authoritarian and imperialist actions of the government.

As a Canadian, I'm refusing to travel to the US.

I dunno why I listen when I'm advised to clear my cache when a tech problem comes up, it NEVER works. I've been doing it since 2006 or 2007, never resolves it.

If your date can’t look past a few fake online pictures when you have *billions of dollars* then trust me darling, it’s not really about the horns.

She's right. The gradual closing of the internet with "save the children" as a wedge issue is progressing and will only serve authoritarians.

We need more political organization around these issues - not just targeting Discord, but targeting the governments that encourage and enable this behaviour.
I’m glad to see people protesting Discord forcing IDs for age verification, but what I need everyone to understand is that there’s immense bipartisan pressure to make the entire internet like this, and they are likely going to succeed unless something drastic happens
