Yeah I'm a socialist because socialists are trying to make things better. Retweets =/= endorsements. He/him. Performative male without the milky drinks. This likely won't stop anyone, but don't read everything online, especially social media, as serious?

I admit, it has been a while since I've really missed being on the gooooooood drugs...
I've been forced to use generic pain relief for like 4 months. They never work well on me, but even a little placebo effect is better than nothing, especially after my close call on the stairs this weekend.

I can't emphasize this enough: millions of Americans live in a fascist bubble. They think we're terrorists who want to kill them. One of the aims in my next book is to demonstrate, with 2000 as an almost arbitrary baseline, how GOP propagandists slowly turned this into common sense.
Lawyers for the government tell Ellis it would be “frankly, dangerous” for her to ban agents from using tear gas.

Lawyers for the plaintiffs scoff at the notion that it would be dangerous to prevent agents from tear gassing residents of Chicago.

Takaichi is willing to look stupid internationally for a performative Nobel endorsement for Trump and stands to curry trade talk favor with the U.S. But at some point you have to stand for some kind of morality beyond transactional politics. The world has taken a rightward lurch into darkness.
President Donald Trump appears to have picked up another Nobel Peace Prize nomination — this time from the new Japanese prime minister, Sanae Takaichi.

Takaichi is the latest in a string of foreign leaders who have said they would nominate Trump for the award. bit.ly/4o6SnXr

Despite having the technology, nobody has ever actually made "Who are you related to?" software, let alone "how closely or distantly are you related?" software. Because nobody actually cares. It was only because people didn't have television that they even kept track.

Speaking as a dude who has a yearly family reunion, "aunt" and "uncle" fill a role, what the fuck are you supposed to call all those other older people you're vaguely related to, do you think there's someone running around with an org chart saying who's a second cousin thrice removed or something

This incident is spreading through Chicago running circles. A 67 year old man, driving back from a long run with his friends, is pulled from the car and thrown to the ground by ICE (or BP?) agents because he did... something.

when it comes to Confederate statues, you gotta melt the shit down or otherwise fuck it up so badly it cannot be repaired

bc if there is even a possibility that it can be restored?? these motherfuckers are gonna put it right back up at the earliest opportunity
Feels symbolic that a Confederate statue first installed in 1901, at the peak of the consolidation of the Jim Crow system—when the states of the former Confederacy were in the midst of revising their constitutions to disfranchise Black citizens—has been reinstalled.

Part of what's destroyed any momentum for the show has been the *constant* long breaks. It built itself with consistent yearly seasons for almost ten years, and then the following ten years has just been "Oh, y'know, whenever."

Then nobody knows when the damn thing is on or even that it came out.

Pushing AI on employees that don't want to use it so they can turn around one day and fire those same employees and replace them with AI.
Developers at EA are reportedly struggling with demands to use AI for “just about everything".

This includes writing code, creating concept art, QA management, and even HR staff issues, with AI tools pushed to be used daily to increase work speed.

While the feds continue to play stupid games, SNAP recipients are set to lose food aid for the next month. In the Bay Area, a growing number of restaurants are stepping up to help, and we're maintaining the list. Share with anyone who needs it. www.coyotemedia.org/these-bay-ar...

Amid a government shutdown that will cut off aid for 42 million Americans, local food scene folks plan to pick up the slack.

This is not a subtweet because it applies to virtually all Western commentators on here and Twitter but a 101 fundamental mistake made when assessing the situation is to treat it as two belligerent states. Incorrect on its face. There is one sovereign power that can escalate and deescalate at will.
Indeed. I'd actually go further than this and say that the real problem is that people treat the piecemeal de-escalation in one theatre of occupied Palestine as tantamount to a ceasefire in all parts. There has never been a comprehensive ceasefire for Palestinians.

Chicago, I can’t stress enough that Bovino is a full-throated Nazi willing to lie on the stand in court. He is the worst of the worst, right next to Stephen Miller.

About 28 percent of the people the administration has deported have a prior criminal conviction.
Homan: "I can tell you the Trump administration is dedicated to achieving a record deportation, the vast majority being criminal aliens... I'm at the WH working with people like Stephen Miller to come up with strategic policies & plans - how to maintain success & how to get the numbers ever higher"
