the actual story here, which the media never talks about, is that police in this country have become a discrete right-wing political operation. the story isn't about cops leaving (they're lying about that), it's about the police trying to exert influence over elections.

Could be wrong, but I think it's partly that even if you didn't use For You, Musk's changes still affected what you'd see even in the supposedly non-algorithmic timeline, alongside the replies being sorted based on who paid, the changes to content moderation, and the outright banning of accounts.

Also, for me as a perennial reply guy, Twitter became extra unpleasant/pointless, because unless you pay, good luck getting almost anything you reply with seen by anyone. If I want to just yell things without ever getting any response, I have pillows for that.

I really do hate how the JCVA seems to have such a strong "eh, it'll be fine" attitude by default. I mean, we're only even starting chickenpox vaccination in the UK on the NHS next January. It's been standard in so many countries for so many years now.

While I think developers call any new apartment a “luxury apartment”, even actual luxury ones attract rich people to move into them, freeing up their existing apartments, increasing supply, and reducing housing costs 👍.
