This makes me think "bsky's founders knew they were going to attract the queers (etc) and then have to jettison them to attract capitol. Rather than fighting for us, did they design an escape plan into the system?

I remember back when Counter Strike was first getting popular--Quake was the game then--and people were trying to get me to play it by saying "It's so much better then Quake, you get REAL GUNS! Not that fake stuff like Quake!"

I recently started using the Ghostty terminal app. The guy who built it previously sold a business to IBM for a billion dollars. It’s great software, and free.
Someone asked him “what’s your business model/path to revenue?” and he said “my business model is I have a billion dollars”

This is the proper response to getting 'enough' money. Just chill out the rest of your life, do things that bring you joy.
For some people that will be something that helps others, like still farming/working/etc, for some its personal projects, for some its nothing. All are better than hoarding.

I know a couple people who made a minor fortune on dot coms, and who then just quit tech and started doing weird stuff that brought them joy. They just didn’t need any more money than they had.

That means the grand jury refused to indict.
