A great article from Rachel, who really understands the heart and soul of Dad’s work.
Hang on, are we counting the tabs on my personal laptop, my work laptop, my downstairs laptop, my phone, or my tablet? Or my partner's laptop/downstairs laptop/phone? Because between us we probably hit the 1000 open tab mark...
One thing which would much more clearly delineate anti-Israel sentiment from (sometimes partially disguised, sometimes not) anti-Semitism would be ending the use of the word Zionist as an acceptable euphemism for Jew.

But of course the people using it like that know exactly what they mean...

took a break from blocking people on social media to write a post about some places in Jewish London that I love:

just because you know. it is nice to think about some lovely parts of my culture and heritage.

Lots of opportunities to block terrorist apologists today...
Taken December 9th 2014.
A long yellow banner is spread on a city street - it has Chinese writing at the top and "WE'LL BE BACK" in English at the bottom. In the background are some skyscrapers, and between the skyscrapers and the banner are a collection of tents, the last physical remnants of Hong Kong's 2014 protest camp.
I hate to say it, but as the partner of an immigrant, a holder of a foreign ID card, and someone who might just possibly work on the implementation - he's not wrong here. I'm in favour in general, but they are useful for joining up government services. Yes, otherwise the conspiracy stuff is mad...

One of these rich dudes invested in a food company with all proceeds going to kids in need. The other started Sundance Institute, boosting the lives of countless artists. Hey modern rich dudes, don't be a typical greedy AI crypto-prick, be like these two.

Hi guys, did you already know there are competitions for window tinting? With better commentators than most of the tennis matches I’ve watched on ESPN? (Low bar I know)

Anyway if you need to procrastinate harder than you’ve ever procrastinated before, I got you

On checking Wikipedia, I was not, in fact, yet born at the conclusion of the (Third) Cod War. I do, however, bear the scars of that epic confrontation, psychically from my parents.

I will thank you not to belittle my lived experience of the (Third) Cod War, sir!

I read this at the exact second that my 700-song random playlist started playing I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)... Spooky!

This They Might Be Giants TONIGHT SHOW performance of "Birdhouse In Your Soul" from 1990 remains firmly lodged in my noggin thanks to the Tonight Show Band's full commitment and Doc Severinsen's incredible trumpeting... It took an already great song and made it transcendent.

They... do?

Hmm, I don't disagree, except - a lot of "social media" nowadays is nothing to do with talking to your real friends, and is a lot to do with being 'influenced' by (at best) commercial and (at worst) abusive/manipulative parties. I'm 100% in favour of actually social media, not so much the rest.

"We were both too tired to sleep"
"So tired that I couldn't even sleep"

Two back-to-back songs played randomly in order from my regular songs playlist tonight, both oddly referring to trains...
