Tub of Nocellara olives just burst all over the contents of my Waitrose bag. Don’t tell me the middle classes are not suffering under Starmer.

What a powerful story. A reminder of the power of art and culture to change lives.

Time for my annual moan that because we do not have Thanksgiving in the UK - BLACK FRIDAY IS NOT A THING HERE!

This beautiful hare disappeared for more than 20 years. Then in 2009, I presented a documentary on Radio 4 telling the fascinating story of the book and the race to find the hare and it finally resurfaced as a result.

At some level I still react to Budget Day with the thought “that’s annoying- all the kids TV will be over on BBC2.”

Don’t say Fulham haven’t made any signings. Billy the Badger has got a girlfriend.

The suggestion that my co-writer and I kept eating Nando’s while we were writing the sequel is a monstrous libel and we will sue anyone who suggests it.

"Daddy why did you go into politics?"
"Well, I always hoped that one day I might be able to make a difference. Like if people were fleeing war and persecution, and they arrived on our shores desperate and afraid, then maybe I could be the one to suggest we nicked their jewellery."

Temporary boards up around the church; 'A thrill of hope. The weary world rejoices'. Maybe the builders came when they said they would.

Robbie Gibb was appointed to the BBC Board by Boris Johnson, was an editorial advisor for GB News, and worked as Theresa May's Director of Comms.

He is not impartial or neutral. The government should remove him from the Board immediately to protect the BBC's independence.

Such sad news. Rachel was such a great journalist and a lovely, super-smart person. Thoughts are with Tony and her family.

Something Rotten! is opening in Manchester in June. Two years on Broadway, (10 Tony noms) - it’s played all over the world but finally getting a proper run in the UK. Great songs, funny jokes: if you don’t love it, I will give you a million pounds.

"It's a full bells and whistles production, the dancing will be exceptional, the music is fab, the songs are so funny"

Finished Riot Women last night - what a brilliant piece of TV. Gripping, pacy, funny with important things to say. A fun story about older women forming a punk band - but it's actually about violence against women which it deals with so powerfully and Sally Wainwright deserves every award out there.

Also - really annoying when the ball gets kicked out of the ground and you have to go all the way down to get it.
This will 100% not be built.

My mum died ten years ago today, so here's a couple of memories. She'd been a war child, so hated to waste food. When she had a new hip fitted, she asked the doctor if she could take the old bone home for the dog.

I like to think of myself as tolerant and open minded. However I do think there should be a swift and brutal police response to stop these young adults playing Quidditch on Clapham Common.
