Good way to look at it. I ate it. 🤗

The friend who gave me the cracked in half WTK cookie loved my analogy and he decided to give me an intact cookie, Shōdai. Now I’m afraid to bite into our former ōzeki lest I jinx his recent turnaround. So hard to be me. 🤗

Should’ve known this pic was coming. 🤗

Scenes from London.
“Put them in different groups from their heya” they said. “It will keep them from forming cliques” they said. 🤗

If we hear Hoss can’t compete in the London tournament we’ll no why.

(Non sumo post. I promise never more than one a month)
Two young girls sitting near me in a restaurant killing time before dancing in a festival (which my kinda trained eye tells me is an Awa Odori festival). One is snoozing one is on her phone. I love this adopted country of mine. I’m staying. 🤗

An acquaintance of mine got a few rikishi cookies from a friend and gave the Wakatakakage one to me because he knew I liked sumo. However the cookie looked like this by the time it got to me. Thinking on this last basho - couldn’t help but see some symbolism.. He’ll bounce back though I’m sure.

Yes it’s Kage and Kiri. Kage was easier to make out in these pics from behind I agree.

Are we really all standing up here dressed like this? It is a dream? 🤗

At the 100 year event these two men performed a ceremony called Kami (gods) Sumo to ward off evil spirits. Having their topknots made up in this style - a tradition from the Edo period. Can you make both men? 🤗

The 100th year of the JSA commemorative event happened.

Well you can tell her you were right this time. I’ve seen him in person in the venue. Was even more striking.

Civilian Takakeishō. I like it. The haircut makes him look less thin. It suits him.
sumosoul.bsky.social
Takakeishō’s transformation into a 13 year old boy is almost complete.

Takakeishō’s danpatsu (top knot cutting) ceremony. Notice former Ōnoshō is more emotionally than TKS. 😊

For what it’s worth the Kiri in his kabu Kiriyama is the character 桐 which means pawlonia wood, while Kirishima’s kiri is 霧, which means mist.

You might have meant お疲れ様でした maybe? I kind of like what you wrote though: “You were the moon.”
Kind of works with that round face of his. I like it. 🤗

Bsky algorithms continue to think I look at lots of images of large half naked men. Well I do but..

You got my brain cells going - ah right - they had that big face off on the last day in 2021 or so, Terunofuji was still an ōzeki and though Hak took the yūshō they still made Teru a Yokozuna and then Hak retired the next basho.

I knew it was Sh.. something. Heh.
sumosoul.bsky.social
And from this day forth shall be his name.

This man, name eludes.. was full on this basho. High hopes. (knocks on wood three times).
