I've said this a million times, but I think I actually gave my very last fuck tonight. I'm all out. Not interested in restocking.

I usually feel like I am being too selfish of a person, even though I am a giver at heart. But I think the 'giving' part of me died tonight. It's me first always now.

Funny animal videos no longer being trustworthy just fucking sucks all around. I love the wonder of animal behavior and what it says about the experience of being alive. It's because it happened in reality that it's so fun. It's not fun if it was just made up. There's no wonder there.

“Love it or hate it it’s here to stay” is a crazy thing to keep saying about a technology. If people don’t like using something it doesn’t have to stay we’re not talking about bad weather here

A majority believe there should be a cap on how much wealth a person can accumulate." www.nytimes.com/2025/12/14/o...

Any publisher that does not see the value of human translation and localisation should do the world a favour and get out of the publishing business.
Harlequin France is canceling contracts with translators to use AI.

Publishers rushing to cut their own feet off befuddles me.
"Bradage de la traduction, plan social invisible : Harlequin passe à l’IA"

Faites tourner, parce qu'il va falloir se battre encore plus. :/

"It's just concept art, who cares if they use genAI and not actual artists?"

Look at this concept art for C-3P0 by Ralph McQuarrie.

It's the very thing that inspired Anthony Daniels to go for the role of Threepio and perform him as such.

It is the first heartbeat of the art that now exists.

Just look at that stretch of his C.V. 🤩 A sad day, so much sadness in the world at the moment.
Rob Reiner: I'm going to make a coming of age drama, a fantasy adventure story, a romantic comedy, a psychological horror and then a courtroom drama.

Us: Across your entire career?

Reiner: In a 6 year period.

Us: That sounds-

Reiner: -Each one will be arguably the best movie in that genre.

the faux-AI evangelists see the artistic process as a race to get to a finished product, instead of something valuable in itself. the process is where you develop those skills you don't have yet, it cannot be skipped, it is where the art happens
I have grown to believe that excessive wealth does something to your brain that is analogous to a serious head injury

What a friendly thing to say. Very generous to of you to think of us during our most recent mass shooting and share news of your better one. Thanks for this friendly message, friend. I don’t think any of us were aware there could be such laws or indeed a better way of living. Good lookin’ out
Just want to share with my American friends how the Australians respond to a shooting tragedy. Action, rather than thoughts and prayers.

UPDATE: Another Chicago-area church has put up an immigration-themed Nativity scene.

A church member at Urban Village Church sent this one along, where Mary, Joseph and Jesus are gone and replaced with a sign that reads: “Due to ICE activity in our community, the Holy Family is in hiding.”

"pledge to end wokeism and restore lethality and the warrior ethos in our military" is just the most insane thing to read, let alone be the header for a law

Literally every A24 movie I have ever watched.

I have so much dislike for every single one I've seen, that I've sworn off any future movies from them as well.

I'm a horror fan and just... no. Enough is enough.
Never mind movies you’ve watched multiple times, name a movie you’ve watched once and would never watch again.

it's so funny seeing the hucksters of AI simultaneously have to argue with the public that anything made with it is actually just as much hard work to create as ever and to the investors that it makes everything effortless and removes all need for work at all

I feel the clients now using GenAI to do stuff and going "good enough" when they used to nitpick at every last detail is due to them finding out all those nit picky changes take time and work they cant be bothered to put in.
